January at the earliest (6 months).
End of March at the latest (9 months).

They're not going to rush it, I hope.

There's no guarantee either or both picks end up adding the value that Noah does. Like it's been posted here, he's a top 5 C, those picks may not be a top 5 at any position.

And it is dumping him. They signed him to a long term contract, now they'd be getting rid of him because of his contract.

Dumping is trading Zach Randolph for Steve Francis and Channing Frye. Getting 2 lotto picks out of a deal is not dumping a player. Is the move financially motivated? Sure. But dumping him would be doing it just for the cap space without picks.

Yeah, we could lose out on that pick but it's still likely we pick at 6 and 11.

Noah/Mirotic for #6/#11/S&T Hickson is a fair offer.

ESPN is now reporting that he's out 8-12 months.

How much salary you think #6, #11, and Hickson take up? Noah's like $11M (which is quite fair, IMO)

I think they won't panic since they did fairly well w/o him in the regular season. I wonder if the would have any interest in taking back Wes + #6 for Noah?

Maybe, but I have my doubts. The Bulls could have signed Matthews as a FA, but chose Ronnie Brewer instead.

    Brewer was a bad signing.

    He's a fringe NBA player.

Brewer started a lot of games for the team. He's an awesome defensive player. They even had him play some PG on rare occasion. The thing is, they're about to let him walk (buy him out), so I wonder why they'd want a $6M player to replace the $4.5M one.

No it isn't! Hickson plays no defense and Mirotic is a minor step down from Pau Gasol.

MAYBE the #6, the #11 and Freeland for Noah might tempt them.

You're not really showing your GM chops here. I have to wonder how you think the Bulls did so well if you think so little of all their players. Brewer is one of the best wing defenders in the league, and one of the reasons Deron Williams finally gave up on the Jazz was because they let Brewer go.

You know that for a fact? Wow, we should snap him up and try to sell Deron Williams on a team with Brewer, Wesley, Aldridge and the coach of his choice.

Mirotic is a minor step down from Pau Gasol? Gasol's a borderline HOF'er.

K, so I've watched a lot of video on Mirotic and he doesn't look anything like Pau. He relies a lot on the 3 point shot, something Pau's never done.

People with their comparisons these days crack me up.

What I read is the Bulls are ok with shedding his salary and using Jimmy Butler in his place.

I guess that would be San Antonio-esque.

That was when the Bulls sucked. And, apart from Chandler (and actually including him - I think he's a player like Z-Bo who needed a change of scenery) can you honestly say that their play since has made the GM that cut them look bad?

WHEREAS: the Bulls with Noah are actually very good, and he's a key reason.

It's pretty easy to be the leading scorer on a shitty team.

The leading scorer tends to be the best scorer out of the 15 players, no matter how you slice it. And I still think Ben Gordon would be a great 2 guard for the current Bulls. Or Crawford.

And dumping those guys (for CAP flexibility reasons) didn't make them winners. Drafting Derrick Rose did.
