if we get wallace or butler..... and oden devleops..... we will be an elite team. butler and wallace solve sooooo many issues on our team
Decent trade for NOLA because he wasn't giving them too much this year... around 8ppg and 7rpg and they are saving money... Decent trade for OKC... Chandler won't be all that good without Paul... i'm expecting him to be an 8 and 8 player in OKC... but it is an upgrade at the Center spot... now they have to decide between Harden and Griffon for their team... either a SG and have Green at PF or a PF and have Green at the 2/3 w/ Durant... I still want Green! This is good news for the Blazers. I don't worry about OKC at all, but I think NOLA got a little worse because they are better than us when fully healthy w/ Chandler, West and Paul... now they really don't have any post defense for a Center. If we can pull off a Butler/Wallace trade, I think we are solidly in the 4-5 spot depending on what Houston does (I think they will also slide which puts us at the 4)... I can't wait... My GOD! I hope we can make a trade. KP needs to understand we really have a good chance to get to the 2nd round here and get some experience. Wallace is still 26!!!! He is good for now and the future and we can consolidate by gettin' rid of Outlaw/Webs and definitely Sergio to clear up room for JerryD. Get 'er done KP!
This move has to be pretty demoralizing to Paul and West. You work so hard, day in, day out, to compete, and then your owners just sell away a critical asset to save money. Especially for West, who isn't a defensive force and really benefited from having a guy covering his back. As a coach, how do you motivate your guys to go out there and compete when ownership has just declared it's all about the money?
Why was that post crazy? OKC does seem to have built a young and talented starting lineup. They'll still have a top draft pick and some cash under the cap to add some more to it. While they're no lock for the playoffs next year (since Green and Westbrook may need more than this season to get to a high enough level), they certainly could make the playoffs next year. Durant is a franchise player. Westbrook seems like a potential secondary star. Green and Chandler are good complimentary pieces. Great foundation, really.
Can even add Batum. Adding Paul without losing any of the big three, and the team can win titles even with Paul Allen at small forward.
OKC is turning into us. I like that trade for them if they can keep everyone. They'll probably win their 25-30 games this year, next year 35-40, and then contend for a playoff spot. Presti's a good GM. I kind of like the Thunder a bit.
I could root for them if they were still in Seattle. No way in hell am I hoping that they all stay together as long as Clay Bennet lives.
its nice to see a young team add vet pieces..... whats it like to have a gm that makes moves in season?
They lost two veterans with more experience than Chandler in this deal. You are aware of that, right? They lost experience in the trade...
I think it's what they call a "poison pill provision". Here is Larry Coon's explanation http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#Q73
