WTF is going on around here lately? How many warnings does a fecund get compared to a potent before receiving a little vacation?

Neonates cry. (no pun intended to Nate) It's just a fact. Stick to sports or go make an OT thread to express the injustice you feel.

Hey, I said you were more nuanced, not better. ;) You know, like, understanding humor, and context... stuff like that.

There used to be a prevailing thought among some here that anything PA touched after microsoft he ruined. That he was a terrible businessman and owner and the Blazers would be better off with a different owner.

Allen is showing he is capable of having success owning sports franchises and I hope he stay the Blazer owner for a long time.

so here's the question I have: Is it that he's more hands-off and letting guys like McGowan and Olshey do what they want to now, or is it that he's finally stopped letting Vulcanites make all the decisions?

Whose hands-on activity got Olshey? Allen being hands-on, or the Vulcans being hands-on?

Let's hope that his health allows that to happen.

He's changed multiple times over the years. As much as I like who he is right now, I think it's a pretty good possible he could turn again.

I think Jody as much as I hate to say it, she and the Vulcans have got him under tight reigns with his money. And have ever since he lost all that money the earlier part of this century. Which is why every business decision or move that is made has to make good business sense.

But overall I think his organizations are being run better now than ever before.

Anyone see that 30 for 30 on ESPN? They talked about athletes going broke, they made millions but put it in hands of family & friends, including not very true friends. One player had his high school coach as his financial manager, guy knew coaching but not money management. And they'd invest millions in some scheme some pal thought up to "start a business in the 'hood" without any business plan.

Paul Allen had some of that. Of course, he started with billions, not millions, so he could lose a lot and still have more dough than half the world's population combined. It seems he learned to trust professionals and keep business and buddies separate.

As to Sherman, funny how many people somehow thought Erin Andrews was in peril. (I bet a lot of those same dudes chortled when a stalker bugged her hotel room.) You know, big scary black man and small white woman peril. In fact Andrews herself said she was never afraid and if you turn off the sound and watch the faces, she is clearly startled by his initial outburst, but hardly afraid, and she handled it like the professional sports journalist she is.

I was impressed by the thinking on her feet: "who was it talking about you?" probably wasn't on her call sheet, and I don't know how many reporters would've been like "back to you, Joe!"
