My brother just puts his kids in time out and it works just fine. Also, once his wife made them put all their toys in trash bags and into the trash can. Once they apologized and made up for it, they got their toys back.

Howard sitting out tonight last minute, not even the team announcers knew about it until actual game time... Didn't even know there was a chance he was sitting.

The NBA probably asked him to not play, they want to hide it behind an injury and keep quiet on their investigation into the allegations. They want to minimize the amount of media attention this gets. Something NFL failed miserably at.

It's an argument and mindset that just doesn't register with me. In our family, it was our mom who would spank us.

And she spanked with a wooden paddle. And it hurt like a mother. But that was also 30+ years ago, and times have changed. She would never do that to her grandkids and she has said she wishes she never did it (but it was what was "accepted" and the norm back in the 60's and 70's).

Because it happened to me doesn't make it right for it to happen to the next generation. If it's wrong, it's wrong. Especially if it happened to you.

Cris Carter had it right when he said it was wrong then, and it's wrong now. But now we have matured and grown as a nation, and it's time to realize that beating a child (and let's be honest, thats what is happening here) is wrong. I know, way to go out on a limb.

They wanted to emphasize his height. For the "this is what you look like to your kid" effect.

He took an elbow to the throat and damaged his larynx. His voice was fucked up for good by that.

Ok, who's up for making a giant cardboard belt buckle for the next Blazer/Rocket home game?

I never knew that (about the elbow). I remember Bill always seemed to have sharp elbows.

Bulls management is vicious at times. Cartwright was the coach, teaching the team the triangle (he was assistant to PJax). Over 3 seasons, the team went from 15 -> 21 -> 30 wins. His former teammate John Paxson was hired as GM and he fired Cartwright because he couldn't yell loud enough on the sidelines.

I remember that. Didn't he also have some kind of procedure done to his throat?

There are some petty shit that teams do.

Paxson also cut Courie Blount 1 day after he'd be eligible to sign with a team and make the playoff roster.
