I thought the L*kers were getting fucked as well. Lots of no-calls and I thought the Magic, esp. Jameer traveled pretty badly several times.

I was reading on LakersGround.net that there was already rioting in East LA. Its going to be a Bloody Sunday if the L*kers win it all in Game 5.

I can see where you're coming from, sometimes it's easier to see on TV than it is on the actual court, and being a player/coach is a much different perspective from the fan's. But with the resources available for all these NBA teams, and how much tape they look at, you'd think they'd see these trends of seeing their dominant big man open at certain points and get them the ball.
Oh well, we'll see if we can get the ball to Greg next season.

anybody think Pietrius will be suspended for Game 5? I would think so. He threw two fists right into Pau's back at the end of the game. Pau is going to feel that in the morning.

    Gift wrapped game 4

I don't know if this is OT or not? but...
Has anyone ever seen a team gift wrap a Finals game more than the Orlando Magic last night? Give credit to the Lakers-I hate 'em, but they sure know how to gut out a win. However, I don't think I've seen a Finals game where one team had a chance to win, but screwed it up/got screwed over more than the Magic last night. Where did it all go wrong for Orlando? I think that the Turk's failure to call the last timeout to inbound to a better option on the last play of regulation was one of the more epic fail's on a night full of them...:sigh:

I don't know how after the Lakers getting completely beat up by the refs (3 fts I believe in OT and the 4th quarter combined) the Magic lost that game.

Ghosts of Nick Anderson past coming back to haunt the Magic.

If Howard had made just one of those 2 free throws he missed, they would have won the game. It was a big-time choke job by the Magic, and they've got to be kicking themselves. Has anyone ever come back from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA finals? I don't think so.

with 4 second left and a tie game? why jack up a crazy 3? why not try to drive for a layup like b roy against NY? horrible play design

Of course he's pissed off - he got knocked out by the Magic in the previous round because he had crappy teammates. He's thinking "give ME Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom and Trevor Ariza and it's a SWEEP".

The Lakers won last night in spite of Kobe Bryant missing shots and turning the ball over in the 4th quarter.

    +1.

I was under the impression that it was now a consensus that LbJ is #1.

    Re: Gift wrapped game 4

Both teams deserve their credit on this one. The Lakers for their tenacity and not giving up, and Orlando, the blame can be spread from top to bottom. Coaching mistakes(I guess going with the guy who just came off the IR list is a good idea for the crunch time? Was Rafer Alston really playing that bad? How many jump shots got scored by Fisher because of having a poorer defender on him?) . Dwight Howard 8 turnover at least, and missed over half his free throws. The same with Turkoglu. Rashard Lewis about flat out disappeared.

lol I guess we'll agree to disagree on this one. I bet Kobe was wishing they only had to go through Atlanta and Detroit to get to their conference finals too. Plus I think Kobe will be just as content with a 5 game series as a sweep :D

right.. so the Lakers would get to where they are right now without Kobe.

Well, once again luck is on the Lakers' side. They could just as easily be down 3-1. Dwight Howard hits one FT, Courtney Lee makes the layup/Gasol gets called for basket interference...

    Here's a challenge I made to Minstrel:
Name the second best player on the Cavs.

Once you've done that, I bet I can name at least three Lakers other than Bryant who are obviously better.

It's kind of shocking to me how much Kobe's athleticism has left him. These days he's getting by on canniness - but he's not close to being as good as Jordan was in the last Bulls championship year, and Jordan was older. Bryant's running on past reputation, not least with the ref.s. It's not simply that he's not better than James - he might not even deserve first team NBA any more.

I am guessing you are correct. That wasn't even remotely a play on the ball.

    Stupid move on his part.

Kobe's facilitating was great at the end of the game.

Kobe got hacked in the fourth quarter and OT, where LA got zero FTs.
