Thank heaven Ellison didn't win the bid. Can you imagine how awful it would be to have another Cuban/Allen type owner in the NBA? (sarcasm mode off)

As you may have already heard, Ellison is claiming he had the high bid, but that Cohan rejected him for some unknown reason. Something stinks....and I think it is named "Stern".

well thats always the case :dunno: if it applies here though.

I'm glad for Warriors fans that Cohan's era is over. He defined penny wise/dollar stupid suing everyone he did business with, driving away talented players and generally creating a loser culture despite being in one of the biggest markets in the league. After being boooed mercilessly with his young son at his side during the AS game he became a recluse. Hopefully we see even less of him from here on out

That's just funny due to your avatar being an Aryan nation looking throwback to the viking era.

I on the other hand am a 7 foot black man with bad knees so my Avatar is a perfect fit. ;)

Too bad the kid was with him, one can't help having a douchebag father and that must have been tough for the little fella.

The part about Stern is speculation.....but there had to be a pretty good reason Cohan would leave $$$ on the table. It is rather interesting that he happened to sell to a guy who already owns a financial interest in another team. It is also interesting that the guy handling the auction supposedly told the local media that he had a "handshake" agreement to sell the team to the other group *before* Ellison's final bid was made. (this is from the GSW forum, so take it FWIW)

Stern's loyalty is to the Celtics, and one new owner is Lacob, part-owner of the Celtics. The other is some bumpkin named Guber. Here is the hick's job resume.
