Why would OKC trade Jackson? He's their second best player. Here's what I found online: The Cleveland Cavaliers will be without LeBron James for a couple weeks with an injury and as the trade deadline gets closer, names like Jeff Green, Brook Lopez, Brandan Wright, Timofey Mozgov, Gerald Green, Samuel Dalembert and Kosta Koufos could be targets for the team, as they also lost Anderson Varejao to an injury and he will be out for the year.
So Jackson to NY, smith and shump to the cavs, and waiters to okc. I'd say okc is the clear loser, which I enjoy
who is in this deal who's a better fit a) this season and b) will cost less going forward? Unless beaucoup draft picks are involved (and with NYC involved, they're probably not), Jackson might be (to some) the best player in this deal.
OKC is a BIG loser here. Jackson will become a star in NYC like Harden has in Houston. OKC would've lost in first round last year without Jackson. This is great news for us.
There has to be more to this trade. J.R. Smith is just an older version of Dion Waiters. Same player, same problems. Maybe OKC has finally found the final resting place for The Rotting Corpse of Kendrick Perkins. BNM
