Keep in mind 86 degrees in HIGH Humid states, equates to 106+ degrees, if the humidity is 80% or more. In Lake Charles (LCS), La. a 85 degree day had a common 90%+ Humidity factor, which equated to approximately 110 degrees in less <20% humidity. When it hits 110 with only 10% humidity here in the effing Mojave Desert, its unbearable, hotter than hell, the kind of weather people die in....

the one knock against high heat/humid areas, is one must run the air conditioner around the clock 8-9 months out of the year. In 98-01, our electric bill, (back then 13+ years ago, was never less than $350 a month, often up to $500 a month. Pro-rated by todays costs & increases in rates, that would equate to a minimum of $500-$750....

My electric bill here in the summer has never been more than $85, and that's with a swamp evaporator cooler, not central air conditioning. When the heat hits 105, not even a swamp cooler works....My electric bill by todays standards in LCS, would be as much as my Home & 10 acre mortgage today....!

Tho' I do miss the south, "stuck inside of Mojave with the Bayou Blues again"...

Yep, that happened in Perry, GA. Upon completion of the B2 build, and Modifications, less Depot Maintenance, I chose to take a job offer to Joe-Jah. I had been hearing Boeing had broke their all time quantity of Commercial AC sales, setting new records of sales. (Northrop was the largest sub-contractor of Boeing AC, Northrop CAD, built the entire 747 fuselages, in Major Assemblies, less the Vertical & Horizontal stabilizers, Wings, and Crew Compartment, & NLG, MLG)...

1st - 6 months, all we heard weekly was more and more commercial Boeing Jets, garnered more and more sales, breaking (like I said previously) all time records for sales. At the 7 month mark, all we heard was each airliner cancelling more and more of their previous orders. Most of those new sales, were to Asian Nations. Keep in mind in 97, the Asian Stock Market Crashed, and so did Commercial AC sales. By 12 months after record new sales, there was barely anything left to build. Thus I stayed only long enough to find a job in LCS, La.

1 year after I left, the plant was sold, and all work was given back to Vought AC of Dallas.

A TSAR- declassified story yet to be told...

She's the head computer tech for ALL the Walmart chain stores so I don't think there's a fear of anything closing.

If it's work she loves doing I would say go for it. Sure money isn't everything but when you have the opportunity to make a lot more you do so while you can. Then retire early and enjoy yourself.

Do you think you could ask you Daughter to get into the computer database, and drop all items at Walmart to half price, be it for just one day....

Let me know what day, so I can go clean up......

Dang Walmart's here, are the supposed minority patronized store, with all its Chinese goods. Do they make anything in America anymore, or sale anything in many of the largest corporate stores these days?

Other than the food, of course, yet I read, the Chinese bought a huge chunk of American Livestock Farms, some of our biggest ones too. The Chinese will raise, fatten up the livestock, ship them to China for processing/butchering, then package the foods in deplorable conditions not fit for human consumption, with NO regulations on food processing; then ship and sale the shit for meat they process. Pork, Poultry, so far no Beef/Cattle***

*** Cattle Rancher's have a more eff you attitude IMO than the other Livestock Farming community, IMHO....Pays to have a melting pot WITH Red-Necks, (thought I'd never say that, but without them, only criminals would have guns also)...The United States of Tejas...(as seen on an oversized coffee mug).

    Read labels carefully.....soon to come....!!!
