OT: Jazz losing at home against Washington

    So did Sloan and Stockton, though. When Sloan quit, Stockton was on ESPN, and he stated that he had more than a few blow-ups with Sloan. Sloan was so intense, could any PG have a great relationship with him? Part of that friction probably played in role him Stockton and Williams playing well for Sloan. The 2 year period between those two was awful, though, because Sloan didn't have a pick-and-roll PG.

    I bet Williams didn't have the mental strength to deal with a coach like Sloan.

    Maybe not, but Sloan could have adapted his style of coaching. Elite PGs don't grow on trees, so perhaps Sloan knew he couldn't be flexible, and just walked away. On the other hand, Nate, by all accounts, has changed a lot since he first got the Sarge nickname from ZBO, and his blow-up with Miller seemed to make them trust each and understand other, as opposed to destroying their relationship.
