So sad. Met him and Dame together at a signing a number of years back and Wall was actually much friendlier. Tough break.

Makes you wonder what these guys are up to in the shower that makes them lose their balance.

Sadly, that was my first response as well. Of course, I also don't believe Oden injured his knee (twice!) during physical therapy. :dunno:

If I'm the Wizards I would try to argue it's career ending to try and get the insurance to cover it. I think we tried that with Darius Miles and it didn't work out too well.

Wow - I had no idea someone could make both Blake and Hayward's contracts look like bargains.

Is this the "What was Wall really doing to get injured" thread? :)

Also, this should give Team X something to think about before offering Anthony Davis $250M or whatever that ridiculous max amount is. Probably not a smart idea...

We'll be in the same boat with Dame this summer. What would you do?

    Totally different boat.
    1) Dame is a winner.
    2) Dame is loyal to the bone.
    3) Dame is not made of glass.

I still don't think he's worth that much money, and it's not a good idea to spend that much on any player who isn't - HANDS DOWN - the best player of his generation. I also think Dame should realize the team, and therefore he, would be better off if he didn't demand the max. However, when push comes to shove I'd relent.

I think insurance will still pick it up after X amount of games missed, but the career ending aspect is to get it removed from their books.

My wife works for Kaiser so the surgery itself is completely free but I own a business and don't have the ability to just bail on it for several weeks.

Look on the bright side. This is our chance to unload Turner and Leonard.

I'd give Dame the Max without blinking an eye.

He just "fell" and tore his ACL. He'll be out for a whole year (from now). He makes nearly $40 mil/year.
