I'm in favor of legalization of almost everything...that doesn't mean that private sports leagues shouldn't regulate them... I hate to bring up the children... but honestly do you want high school and college kids emulating their sports role models? Also, that would force anyone that wants to be competitive to do them as well...
I see no hand-wringing over athletes taking salt pills. Do we really want children imitating athletes and taking salt pills all day at school? They'll turn into mindless robots and ruin America's ability to fight wars. Think of the public health costs as tens of millions of children run to the hospital to have their lives saved and stomachs pumped. Think of the loss of morality as they turn into criminals when they become addicted to salt pills. Is being able to eat what you want what our Founding Fathers envisioned when they gave us our freedom? This should be obvious. If salt pills were legal, all athletes would have to use them to compete with the addicts. The more I think of it, the more I demand 30-year prison terms for salt pill usage like so many drug felons get. Why shouldn't all athletic drugs be treated the same? This not only offends, it outrages. I remember the first time I saw little yellow salt pills. They were lying around the P.E. locker room in 7th grade in Hawaii. They were standard for serious athletes. That was 10 years before Obama went to the same private school and used the same boys' locker room. As a member of the basketball team, I'm sure he used them in the hot weather. Think of the evil peer pressure he must have endured to be competitive. Those little brats should definitely get the same hard prison time as steroids get you. Why don't we ruin the lives of 10 million salt pill users, including those who would have become presidents, like the 40 million already ruined by drug convictions? We need fewer presidential candidates, anyway, and Obama would look sharp in prison orange. So in summary, I'm as worried about the brats as you are. Adults should have no freedom because--think of the kids.
