Well, he was a Laker, so that makes him villain material. Kendrick Perkins, on the other hand, learned how to be a fake tough guy from Kevin Garnett. Scowl and talk shit while beating a hasty retreat. Yeah Garnett barked like a dog at Jerryd Bayless, but any pretense of toughness goes out the window when Lindsay Hunter and Matt Bonner make you their bitch. BNM
I 100% agree. Perkins is a chump and fake tough guy. You know who was a real tough guy?!?! Bill Lambeer. I saw him take a full punch from Charles Barkely and still come after him. That's a sign of a guy ready to give his body for his ball club. Buck Williams was another tough guy as well.
Laimbeer was the most hated player in the entire league, but the guy could take it, as well as dish it out. Barkely punched him, Parrish did multiple times, Bird did, and several more. The guy could take a punch and wasn't afraid to mix it up.
Garnett looked like he was going to get serious for a bit but then went into full "Tail between the legs" mode.
Just thought maybe we should revisit this now that the Blazers are riding a 9 game win streak and the Thunder are 8.5 games back. It now sounds like there is a possibility that both Durant and Westbrook could return for Fridays game vs the New York Knickerbockers. Have the Blazers built a big enough lead and or are they playing well enough at this point that it really doesn't matter?
There is a third way: Durant and Westbrook are rushed back, and get re-injured about a month from now. Think Webster's injury and re-injury.
Blazers need to keep takin' care of business and not think about the Thunder. We have a nice cushion in our division and it's time to set our sights on the #1 seed in the Western Conference!
They are trying to get Westbrook back by Friday. They are saying they want Durant back by mid December. I would feel much better if we are still winning and Thunder loses a few more games.
The Thunder are afraid, rushing these dudes back. They know the Blazers are shaping up to be a force in the division.
http://newsok.com/kevin-durant-and-...e-in-most-of-thunder-practice/article/5369833 Looks like Westbrook is closer than Durant. Seems like the correct take. A foot is a much tougher thing to deal with. I pretty much agree with Hobbesarable that they just need to keep takin care of business and play good sound ball.
