LaMelo’s first regular season NBL game starts in about 1 1/2 hours. His team the Illawarra Hawks are home at the Sandpit against the Brisbane Bullets. The game can be streamed (in Australia, I don’t know about overseas) here: https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/vid...etball-nbl-illawarra-hawks-v-brisbane-bullets You have to sign up, but it’s free.
According to https://nbl.com.au/player/3716/1279436/lamelo-ball , he's played in three games. He's shooting 37% from the field. But his play in Australia has vaulted him near the top of the draft? I get that he's only 18, but this seems like a continuation of inexplicable hype and I don't know why anyone would change their opinion based on a handful of games in Australia.
...he also has the same goofy ass lazy feet like Lonzo so only a matter of time for the same injury issues to pop up
If this happens I demand that all LaMarcus to Portland trade threads renamed Marcus to Portland Super Duper Thread. Make it so.
It's possible that he will be plagued by injuries like Lonzo. After all they are more alike than not and Lonzo's really struggling with something or another. They are surely talented players and Lonzo is a brilliant passer but you cannot count on him to be healthy.
Even if NBL is not even remotely close to Euroleague level back to back triple doubles against non-Chinese pros is super impressive.
I believe it could be with the exception of Spanish ACB, Turkish BSL and VTB. The top 4 teams there are on higher level. Adding Eurocup there as well. I just saw Brad Newley still playing and has a big role in the 1st team in the Standings, i now changed my mind about it being better than any European League
