One concern I do have for the Grizzlies now is their lack of a perimeter scoring threat. Gay may have been detrimental, but at the end of the day, the farce of his 17 ppg kept defenses honest. It should be interesting to see how much more defenses key on our post and ignore our wings.

Tony Allen can't score unless he's at the rim, and even then, it's iffy. Quincy Pondexter was on the way to a breakout season, but he's probably out for another 2-3 weeks on the IR. Right now, the only wing scorer the Grizzlies have is Chris Johnson, a D-League call-up on a 10-day contract, who has been great, but at the end of the day is still a D-Leaguer on a 10-day contract playing for a team that wants to be a contender.

Hopefully the Grizzlies can finally bring in Bill Walker or make one last minor deal to bring in a decent shooter to keep the opposing defenses honest.

Consider yourself truly blessed. Your team came out like champs on this deal. Gay was truly your only crutch. He was just a glorified outlaw that was always suspect on the offensive flow. I really think prince will be re energized and do well there. He is a proven winner and has great playoff stats and experience. Calderon would have been nice too; but I understand why you let Detroit take him.

Only negative is your outside shooting did take a hit. But that year they beat sas and made it to the wcf; they had some of the worst perimeter scoring. Good luck to your team; as long as they don't meet us in the first round! ;)

Shaq and Kenny Smith don't like the trade saying Memphis got worse.
