This makes me respect Sterling even more, although I admit I went to Wendy's Saturday night.* I would like Allen if he'd yell at Canzano. Hey Paul--Next time they campaign against you as the worst owner in sports while you're undergoing cancer treatment, plaster posters all over the Rose calling for a boycott of the Oregonian. Buy ads on city buses, too. Have someone infiltrate his house and put a piece of plutonium under his pillow. Then during his brain cancer chemos, get on the radio and in the papers getting everyone to hate his guts.

In Clipperland you yell at players. Here it's the Oregonian.

    You're being dominated. Dump him.

*99 cents is cheaper than a dollar.

Is Kingspeed mixing up his Donald Sterling stories?

Are you sure it wasn't the Donald?

Baron Davis got high stats for Don Nelson, was signed by Sterling for $13M per year, and has returned to his pre-Nelson mediocrity.

In Nelson's 30 years of coaching, I've never heard of this happening to a player, post-Nelson. (Except about a dozen other pseudo-stars and all his non-stars, too.) Sterling apparently was ignorant of the pattern.

Serious advice to Sterling: Spend far less than $13M on getting Nelson. All your players will increase their stats 50%. Your fans just want excitement, not the playoffs, and they'll get it. Nelson doesn't want to retire. He's perfect for the Clippers. And most important to you--you'll save money by not needing expensive FAs like Davis.

He did actually. Didn't want me to be loudly cheering and demonstrative despite the fact I had paid $3000 for the tickets.

It had also seemed to me that you had chatted with him at length before tipoff. Anything good you can share?
