It's not a statement that's relevant. Look at the players around Zach... the team dumped Rasheed and Bonzi (its two best players) and got nothing for them. It drafted high schoolers like Telfair and Webster that were unable to help Zach. It signed free agents like Juan Dixon and relied on Darius Miles (!) as the second-best player for the team. Zach had no help, and so blaming HIM for the team's failures (when the team around him was so terrible) is simplistic or disingenuous. Ed O.
So do you NOT disagree with him being productive? Or do you? You're all over the board. Fantastic. Who gives a shit? Ed O.
I already said that Zach is a productive fantasy player. Unless padding stats on bad teams somehow wins NBA championships???
If they only beat Miami 120-115 tonight, it will be another year of stat padding for a bad team for Ol' Z-RO.
I actually do agree with some of what PapaG is saying. Randolph is a horrible defender. and when you do stuff like this, I'd rather have him on the bench.
It was a two-for-one situation. Clearly it would have been better had he made the shot, but if you have to pick a single play to criticize a guy for, I don't think that's a very strong one. Ed O.
On the subject of Minny, by the way, I think they're for real this season. They have surrounded Al Jefferson with good pieces. They will give us hell this year. They could even beat us out for the playoffs. We'll see.
You made a distinction between "productive" and "productive fantasy" player. It's bullshit. He's productive in actual games, whether you want to add extra words or not. Ed O.
While Randolph is productive in games, he also is a black hole who doesn't like to pass and is horrible at passing out of double teams. For a big man he gets a negligent amount of blocks. He also turns the ball over almost 3 times a game, and plays defense like he's allergic to it. But yeah, he does get 20/10. I just don't think it's necessarily worth it when his guy scores just as much. Not to mention 46% FG for a big guy, isn't the greatest. He was the man when he would play downlow. But that seems like a long time ago.
1) Do the Heat stink? They have Dwyane Wade and Shawn Marion. Beasley's supposed to be good. Are they really going to go 15-67 again? 2) The Knicks were dominating the Heat when I started this thread. So the Heat made a run. So what? Knicks still won.
I have them down for 39 wins. I think they'll surprise, too, but they'll be erratic for the first two months or so.
Well, if that is the case, he is productive for the opponent because he doesn't play defense and doesn't win many games. Unless Zach, the Proven Productive Loser, gets a pass for this deficiency?
Wow, that's cold. We all pull for Eric's career and want to see him succeed, whether we agree in a given thread or not.
