I've been getting really into Euroleague basketball recently, and if Rodriguez is not making a million in salary, he's probably clearing well over it in endorsements.

He's the starting point guard for Real Madrid, who have a Lakers/Celtics sort of dominance along with FC Barcelona in Liga ACB. He plays with Rudy Fernandez and Nikola Mirotic (I'm sure most of ya'll know about Mirotic, but if not, just wait another year until he joins the Bulls as a starter).

I'd say that considering that he's playing in his home country, probably clearing over a million a year, and is the starting point guard on this year's ACB champion, Sergio Rodriguez has done pretty well for himself.

To quote former Kansas great Keith Langford about playing in the Euroleague this season -

"... someone will ask me if I want to work a camp to make a little extra money. I want to yell, 'Hey, I'm a millionaire, too,' but it's not worth explaining. Guys ask me all the time, 'Don't you want to go pro? I'm like, 'Man, I am a pro.' But it's just NBA or nothing."

BTW - I just looked it up, and Sergio Rodriguez makes $1.3 million Euros a year ($1,673,880 USD) for Real Madrid, and he probably makes a shit ton more in endorsements there than he ever would in the US... being the starting PG of the best team in the country. Not to mention, he's home and comfortable. I honestly think he made out pretty well...
