Re: Rumor: Arenas [possibly] traded to Orlando? gortat yes. carter no. pietrus is nice shooter off bench. so translation... suns are tanking
Blockbuster Orlando-Phoenix trade!! The Magic just acquired Turkogku, Earl Clark, and Jason Richardson. The Suns got Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat, Mickael Pietrus, 2011 draft pick, and cash!! Wow. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5932861 Rashard Lewis for Arenas trade still in works..
Re: Rumor: Arenas [possibly] traded to Orlando? I do not think they are outright tanking, just getting out of the il-advised contract of Hedo. Richardson is the best player in the deal, but getting Gortat helps. They really took a step down from Amare/Amundson in the offseason and this helps slightly.
Re: Rumor: Arenas [possibly] traded to Orlando? If any team should blow it up, it's Phoenix. Losing Amare was the death blow, and I really don't see them making the playoffs at this point. They should move Nash and start rebuilding.
Re: Rumor: Arenas [possibly] traded to Orlando? Will be interesting to see if Hedo can recapture magic in a bottle (huh huh) by handling the ball more and playing with a dominant big...
Re: Rumor: Arenas [possibly] traded to Orlando? I think this helps PHX more than originally thought. They were desperately in need of a big, and they got a pretty decent one. And the VC-Nash mash can be pretty decent. AANNND, they got rid of the Greedo contract.
Re: Rumor: Arenas [possibly] traded to Orlando? I think they're done. Vince is a shadow of himself and Richardson was the only bright spot on that team next to Nash.
Re: Blockbuster Orlando-Phoenix trade!! I like this trade for both teams. Hedo was continuing to slide statistically and his contract was just too big for him not to produce. He goes back to Orlando where he can get clean looks for 3 and can still feed Howard. There should not be too much of a dropoff in Richardson's numbers and allows Orlando the flexibility to move Lewis. Gortat should be more valuable in Phoenix. I do not expect anything different out of the Frenchman. Carter should be atleast as useful as Hedo was. Earl Clark was not working and the Suns get a 1st out of him.
Well, what I'm thinking is that they are still shy a big man. I don't think they have enough large contracts left to make it work, but maybe they'd want Camby or Joel and a future 1st round pick for ... shit ... I have no idea who. maybe this (along with New Orleans's first round pick) would get them to bite? http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=28ng26e It improves their cap situation post lockout, they are in win now mode and they'd have Miller and Arenas as two really strong contrasts at the point guard spot, with the Hibachi probably in the role of sixth man. For the Blazers it makes them younger and gives them an intriguing young big who may or may not be worth a damn, but it could work out OK.
I don't know. But even though Andre isn't the floor spacer that Nelson is, he's probably slightly better defensively because of his size and savvy and could you imagine the best lob passer (with Camby not too shabby either) paired up with D12? Nelson is also a little bit more of a score first guy than Dre and I'm not sure having two point guards (Arenas and Nelson) with that mindset does them any favors.
Holy Tradinty Orlando moves Rashard to Washington for Gilbert Moves Gorat, Pietrus & Carter + 3mil and a first round pick to Suns for Hedo, Richardson, and Earl Clark. http://nba-facts-and-rumors.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22748484/26507013
Kudos to Orlando for shedding the worst contract in sports: Rashard Lewis: $20m | $22m | $23m 12.2 PPG | 4.2 RPG | 1.2 APG | 0.4 BPG | 11.4 PER He really should be ashamed of himself. Those numbers and straight up embarrassing.
