Eh, dorell wright has shown in the past to be fine as a starter. Would be an ok stop gap, and we could use the bae to sign a backup sf.

Or use Lopez as bait to trade for one

That's the thing. It's a two edged sword. Lopez is obviously a better offensive rebounder and a semi decent defensive player. Hibbert is a stellar defensive player, with a suspect offensive game.

The key difference is Aldridge and Lillard would be a perfect compliment to Hibbert. If we somehow were able to keep Batum, then we have a much younger and stronger team than the championship Pistons, IMO.

I think a lot of Lopez's success can be attributed to him fitting the role he did for this team. It's a role very similar to the one Hibbert would fill. It's just a matter of whether you think Lopez or Hibbert would make the Blazers a better team, and what the Blazers would have to give up to acquire Hibbert -- I see no way both would be on this roster.

I like Lopez, but you have to consider Hibbert strongly if the price is right. Also, you have to be careful about falling in love with your own players, especially when you are in the position the Blazers are. This team is very good, and I enjoy the way they play, but I still don't see it as currently comprised getting to the NBA Finals, and that's the goal now, not to just be really good for a few years, stuck in the middle of the playoff teams.

No one should be untouchable for the right deal. There aren't many right deals for LA and Dame providing you think you are able to re-sign them and keep them around. Lopez and Matthews are tradeable assets and you might be able to sell high on them right now and get significantly better. Batum still has potential that could entice the right team. As much as I like all of those guys, you have to be willing to keep an open mind to dealing them to take that next step.

When we first went after Hibbert I thought he was overrated and was going to get overpaid. But I understood why we were going after him. I still think he's overrated and overpaid, but I'd definitely trade Lopez & CJ for him. I wouldn't include any other starters or Robinson, though.

But I think I agree with Fez that I'd prefer to get Monroe.

It would take more than Lopez and CJ to get Hibbert. And keep in mind it's going to be a sign and trade for Monroe; which is most likely Batum or Matthews.

So the real question would be... Who would you rather give up?

For Hibbert; it's most likely going to be Matthews and Lopez, with possibly Leonard to make contracts work

For Monroe; it's most likely Batum and Leonard (which allows Smith able to play PF).

    Pick your poison bro.

Why would we give up two quality starters for a starter another team wants to dump....

Hibbert has been a borderline allstar and the worst starting big man in the league. I could see why a fan wants to trade one of our starters for that even if I disagree. But trading two is ridiculous.
