And yet he was the most effective defender against Shaq that the Blazers ever had.

Weights and jogging are both highly detrimental to quick reflexes and footspeed and handspeed. Many intelligent athletes refuse to do either.

Clyde Drexler was the worst practice "slacker" in Blazers history.

Sheed and Clyde together account for the bulk of our 40 years of franchise records.

    Maybe we need more slackers.

I only watch Blazers games so I just checked Boston's stats.

Playing in the 6th man spot for the first time in his career, averaging only 22 minutes but playing in more games than all but 2 players, Sheed eclipses anything the rest of the bench has done.

He's 6th in minutes played, 6th in FGM, 3rd in 3PTM, 6th in FTM, 3rd in DRB, 4th in TRB, 5th in AST, 3rd in STL, 2nd in BLK, 6th in PTS.

Compare that to anyone on our bench and I'd say Boston got a steal at 6mil.

Maybe Simmons should take that white hood off his head and read the stat sheet before he writes another of his many baseless attacks on Rasheed.

Yes, but in many cases, a solid team dynamic consists of more than simple stats alone.

I have never seem a more self indulgent writer than Simmons. He takes 30 paragraphs to regurgitate every single thought in his head about Sheed. The piece could hand should have been half the length.

And yes, we know Sheed is a punk.

Remind me how many straight years Sheed has been to the playoffs. Like most 35 year olds he's not as good as he once was, but dude has been a winner forever now. His detractors lost this argument back when he put Detroit over the top.

BS still is more of comedian then an astute judge of whats what in hoops. Their main guy is dragging his leg around like a crutch and Simmons is going for cheap jokes as usual.

A 35 year old player is on the downhill side of his career, and it was a mistake to give him a 3 year deal.

Dang - who would ever have suspected that might happen?

The fake stat was made up by a bad comedy writer, Bill Simmons. Comedians make up stuff all the time. Speaking of being lazy, laconic, and loquacious--what is Simmons?
    --------------------
Rasheed is 6th on his team in effectiveness per 48 minutes. Clicking on the headings, per 48, he is 2nd in blocks, 4th in steals, and 6th in points.

According to the HoopStats page below, his fouls and 3FGA help, not hurt, his team. This is as of April 1. When he has had 3 or more fouls, the Celtics have gone 29-15 .659 (18-12 .600 in all other games). When he has attempted 4 or more 3-pointers, his team has gone 24-13 .649 (23-14 .622 in all other games).
