Another long jumper by Smith, the worst shooter in the history of the game.

Jeezus Jinxspeed, he was 7-10. Not bad for the worst shooter in the history of the game. Oh well, a couple things you can take solace in:

    1) He still can't make FTs

    2) This will just make him think he's a good shooter and he'll jack up shots and an even higher rate. Sooner, or later, the law of averages will catch up and he'll regress to the norm. Let him shoot 7-10 against the Lebron-less Cavs, as long as he shoots 3-17 against us.

Remember when Artest would make his first shot and we'd cheer because it meant Kobe got fewer touches? I think it'll still be like that.

Pistons up 15 on Dallas in Dallas with 4 minutes left. Looks like a 7 game win streak now.

Exactly. He made shots tonight but they were bad shots. It won't hold up.

    Let's review.

    Houston w/ Josh Smith: 4-4
    Detroit w/o Josh Smith: 7-0

    The definition of cancer.

To be fair, Houston has had a pretty tough schedule in the last 8.

Can't take anything away from Detroit though, they definitely are playing inspired ball without Smith.

Houston with Smith coming off the bench...

    3-1

    FG%: .574
    PPG: 17.5
    RPG: 6.25

How about we use these numbers since he's not going to start unless an injury forces the Rockets to do so?

This wasn't a trade, one team let go of another player and one team picked up that player. What happens on each team is entirely separate. Some players have to fit a team, not everyone is a superstar that is going to make every team they go to better.

Smith said his main reason for picking the Rockets was he was promised a starting spot. When the honeymoon is over and he starts demanding to start again, things will change. I guarantee that. And their wins aren't blowing teams out, with the exception of one game.

Speaking of blowouts, the Pistons blew out the first 5 teams they played without Josh Smith. Then they went and beat two Western Conference contenders on the road. Josh Smith a cancer on the level of Kobe Bryant.

I honestly think it needs to be phrased if he starts demanding to start again.

What worries me is that the Rockets will use their fine analytic brain-trust, look at what happens to teams after Smith leaves them (See Hawks, Atlanta and Pistons, Detroit), cut him and win the 'ship.

No "when" is a fair and accurate statement. You can only use what has already happened as evidence, not some hypothetical argument that has no historical support.

Problem is "This was endorsed by Howard". If they cut Smith, then you will have backlash from Howard. So in other words, they have gone "all in" with Smith. If it starts failing, then only Howard and Smith being gone will come out of it.

Smith keeps shooting threes. He can't hit them and he can't hit FTs and he can't hang with the Knicks' 2nd unit.

Josh Smith vs Knicks: 1/3 FGs (and he actually shot a three, smh), 0/2 FTs, 3 turnovers, game worst -8

So with Smith, the Rockets couldn't beat the Knicks' second unit. Wow.

I'm not sure what you are talking about, the Rockets won handily last night? They didn't even play that well too.

First it was laughing about how Smith took 20+ shots in his first game and now you are making fun of him for not taking enough shots. Smith shoots like 2 threes at most a game on this team thus far. You make it sound like he's putting up 5 three point attempts or something.

Well here is a tidbit. Smith asked to come off the bench and play with the second unit. In fact said he's been watching and mimicking Donatas...I see no reason why he'd play with the starters because he never touches the ball playing with that unit any ways. So I seriously doubt his plan is to play with the starters and I doubt the Rockets plan to do that seeing as how Donatas is the teams 3rd best player and sending him to the bench in the first place was a silly idea.

Yeah, our wins aren't blowing teams out (Miami and NYK) because it's the NBA man. You don't blow out every team below you, you guys did not blow out the Lakers, does it count against you?

Well yeah man it doesn't. We were without Lopez and Freeland, which was why their team was able to get so many offensive rebounds.

Kaman starting is a problem because our bench doesn't have the post player to keep our game philosophy going throughout the entire game.

Unlike your team, which I believe is better without Howard playing, we require our bigs to keep our offensive flow going.
