Cuban probably feels like an idiot for doing it. Supposedly Coach Rick was against the trade but got overruled by Cuban. Heard a lot of stories about what an ass Rondo is. I'm sure he's on his best behavior to get paid. You'd think he would've been for the Mavs too. Maybe he just can't fit into a group at all unless there's already multiple knuckleheads.
Honestly, I think Kobe does. IF Kobe makes it and Dame doesn't, I will write my first letter to the commissioner condemning emphatically the voting system of the all star. This is a title that goes a long ways into the history of a players accolades. The number of all star selections can play a part in the decision making process for the HOF. Even though the players tend to make light of the game, the NBA treats it like some afterthought to try to please the fans by trying to make us think we actually have a PART in the NBA. I don't want to be a part of it and I don't want irrational fans like myself making decisions based on personal passion or preference. The all star selection should be done internally or have an outside comity anointed. Members of the media. Something like the NCAA does the Heisman and the playoffs or something. But letting us fans vote in who should start a game is just ridiculous.
Well Curry, Westbrook, and Harden are givens. Kobe is likely a given. That leaves room for 1 maybe 2 more guards. Last year, Paul beat out Lillard but this year, I think Lillard beats out Paul. And then there's Rondo, league leader in assists. I think Paul could miss the All Star game. Never mind Klay Thompson or CJ McCollum. Thoughts?
I think the fans will vote Curry and Kobe. Dame will get overlooked by the coaches and his All-Star bid will depend on whether Kobe says "thanks but no thanks" again.
