HK says he's a "fan of players, not teams" lmao.... He was a huge Kobe fan, now he moved on to LeBron.

Yes including the number of games played. But the difference being Joel had a serious injury, and Shaq was not.

You have to love Shaq chasing rings. You know he'd be back with the M'eat or the L*kers if they would have taken him.

Maybe next year he will try to persuade the Blazers to sign him.

I was actually a Heat fan back in the day. Blazers were always # 1 but Sherman Douglas was my favorite player in the league for some odd reason (I think his old Sherman Shuffle commercial) and I was a Heat then a Celtics fan when he got traded there for Brian Shaw. God, I even customized a Miami Heat hat to say "Asian Heat" when I was back in my gangbanging days.

At that price, it is a no lose for the Celts.

Shaq had a PER of 17.9 last year. Joel's career best is 15.4. Shaq is an incredible bargain, and even more considering that Miami (and of course Boston, to some degree) has the weakest front-court for an " elite contender" in recent memory. Boston just punked Miami.

Shaq did have a decent PER for a backup center last year. However, Joel is and has been a superior defender for several years, which isn't really captured in PER.

Based on what statistic? Outside of his year in PHX, Shaq is basically Joel's equal in basic and advanceed stats the past 4 years. Plus, Shaq is much better offensively, as his PER will show.

Shaq has always been known to do whatever the hell he pleased on defense and never gave it close to the amount of effort he gave on offense. His defense is basically standing in the lane.

IMO, Celts will win the East. They may lack youth but their front court makes up for it.

Well I root for the great individual struggle, so I can seem like a bandwagon person. Don't be mistaken though, I don't just like great players, I'm not a fan of Jordan for example. He's fun to watch and I respect him, but I need more than that. I moved on long before James was coming here too.

Oh I am definitely no loyal fan. In basketball I just care about the players I respect, not the teams.

So no need to apologize. ;)

I've been a huge Heat fan tHe last 20 years. June 20th, 2006 was the best day of my life. I stayed with them through all the tough years. The sweep by the Bulls. The nearly upsetting the #1 seeded Hawks in the first round in 1994. The Seikaly for Billy Owens trade. It was painful going 15-67 two years ago. I watched every game on league pass right up until the end. I'm so pumped that the Heat got Bosh and LeBron!
