    The live version of "Lazy" from this album kicks ass.

    Its already an uptempo piece...but they really speed it up

    That guitar lick is one my all time personal faves and then Jon Lord follows it on keyboard after Ritchie Blackmore is done.

    I'm a wimp in this regard, but I did listen to my son play Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade" in the University's orchestra the other day. Fantastic!

    Wonderful. I bet he had a blast playing such an Eastern-tinged work rather than the same old Austrian/German/Italian fare. What instrument does he play?

    Violin -- made it up to first violins this year, albeit in the back :-)

    I think he really did enjoy it. Super demanding and intense piece, emotionally and technically. But he was so wiped out he got into an accident later that night :-(.

    You don't hear much about Driving under the Influence of Violin.

    I'm sure you would have mentioned it if he wasn't o.k. after the accident and based on that assumption I'm grateful to God for at least that.

    Yeah, he and my wife (in the passenger's side) were ok, and luckily, I guess, it was with some people coming from the same concert and who are acquaintances and the nicest people you'd want to meet. We even have the same insurer. The blessings of living in a small town, I guess :-) You might call it a typical midwestern accident where everybody was apologizing and comforting the others :-)
