Hang in there, hoss. If you have to have a game like this, better in game 1 than later in the season as far as the polls go. Also, the fact that it's nonconference makes it's impact a lot less on the season.
one game friend, our team will be alright, they couldnt play worse than they did, yet they still legitimately had a chance against a very good team on the road. and like Mobes said, a lot less implications when its OOC.
It sucks though. You have to go for like 10 days now knowing that your team, who you had high expectations for, lost. I guess they were a bit overhyped. Chip better get down to business. We should be running the shit out of the ball. *sigh* And no more Blount. So much potential in this program. Oh well. I think a better strategy would be to play an easy game as an opener. But i'm still proud of my boys, and i'm happy we scheduled such a crazy OOC schedule.
This I agree too, but also, Why the hell were we having our 240 Monster of a back running east and west? You send that guy North, and you send him HARD. And Blount aint going nowhere, he'll get a couple games at most.
They can send him north and south all they want, but Blount will just dance it around anyways. What a dumb ass. First big decision as head coach for Kelly? What a shit show. The defense finally looked decent in the second half, but it's still that bend but don't break shit. They looked really good stopping the run, I thought. Looked like they were scared to get beat, so played what looked like a prevent defense trying to stop the pass, which led to a ton of 3rd down conversions for BSU. 10-20 on 3rd down, 2-4 on 4th down. Offense was attrocious. Just disgustingly bad. They seemed so innovative and fresh last year. Lasy night? They ran one run play quite a few time sthat I can remember. And it led to a safety and more lost yardage. Last year, it seemed like Masoli had the freedom to pull back handoffs on plays like that, and make it an option. Last night, they all looked like straight handoffs. On the safety in particular, Blount was tackled instantly after getting the ball. Two defenders converging on him, that's a play that Masoli needs to pull back, and run right on, after actually reading the defense. I dunno how many passes sailed out of bounds, adn why they didn't look Dixons way until what seemed like the 4th quarter. In fact, they didn't seem to pass over the middle of the field at all until late in the game. Sideline, sideline, sideline. Well, if that's all you want, I can devise a defenseive scheme to beat you. Was Chip kelly in the booth last year, or did he call his plays from the ground? I wonder, if he was inthe booth, if that will have an effect on his play calling. From the booth, youget that nice view of the entire field, and can see adjustments and developments through a play, which could allow you to exploit those later in the game. There was none of that on oregon's behalf. James only had 2 carries? Look at the split from last year. Johnson with over 150 carries, Blout with over 130. Masoli with over 120. So why go away from mixing things up? Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. As for the little brother syndrome mentioned earlier, that's a joke. Oregon has had the more nationally recognized program recently, which makes them feel superior. In turn, they mock Oregon State for having little brother syndrome. They act as if they are above all that. I'm a USC fan, and whenever I mention that, it immediately generates the little brother mentality out of Oregon fans, so they're no better, they just like to think they are. But they can't take joking around from a team that is better than them, you make one little joke, and the defensive shield immediately flies up. Anyways, it doesn't matter Duck fans, it's all just a battle for second place in the Pac-10.
Yeah, and quite frankly, it sounded a lot to me like someone dropping the N word, but then saying they know the difference between a N***** and a black person, and that they aren't racist, they just call the bad ones the bad word. No, I'm not equating racism with football fandome, just the explanation of your comments relates, to me. Especially since the individual, as was pointed out, didn't mention the beavers at all, just thought the Ducks would lose by 10+. Which they did.
I pretty much remember just saying "that was your joke, really?" to the guy who said something about a myth being true... but ok.
And after someone said you were defensive about his joke, you accused him of having little brother syndrome.
and after that, I said I was calling out his joke, and the little brother syndrome was for the other fans posting about their program when it had nothing to do with the thread. Post #34
Fair enough. Just seems like the labeling of the fan base gets made easily, with the clarification done much later. I know Blazers fans who are assholes. I wouldn't say oh, that asshole fanbase of the Blazers, and then have to clarify later oh, well, I just mean the assholes. Not all of them. Sure, some have little brother syndrome, some are jealous, some are pricks. Same can be said for Oregon fans. To throw out the label that they are afflicted with little brother syndrome when someone makes a joke, only to have to clarify later, as I said, comes across as getting cut off by a black driver, calling them a N*****, and then clarifying to people in the car later you're not a racist, you just call the shitty people that.
I agree with that, and I cant remember if it was this thread, or the other Ducks one, where I apologized on my writing it, or wording it poorly, but I wasnt referring to a fanbase in general, and the same can be said for Oregon fans. And USC, and WSU and even Florida fans for that matter.
I agree. That's why it bugs me when oregon fans accuse OSU fans of it. All fan bases have their good and bad. Except for Laker fans. They all suck.
