It could hurt it if they don't remain a top 5 job...I think he's put in too much prep work with his new job to want to start over....I heard Washington State's coach was on their radar though.

Lol Leach is not getting the FSU job. All signs point to Taggert being their guy, and if I was duck fan, I wouldn’t be that bummed if he left. Losing that recruiting class would suck but if the quacks can get Kevin Sumlin then I think they would actually be in better shape going forward.

Fuck no... no Sumlim... rather go balls to the wall for Frost. Hell I'd rather even promote Leavitt or hire Tedford before Sumlin.

I just know Pac 12 coaches pretty much in college ball.....you guys may be right about Willie taking the Florida job...he didn't sound that way after the Civil War game...sounded pumped about the program...he's just a couple backup qtr backs and a bit more size and length away from having an elite team in Oregon....gaping hole in the backup quarterback spots and risky to have your starting QB like to run up the middle alot

Honestly, if he leaves, he proved that the right coach CAN recruit to Oregon. So it's not the end of the world. They just need to find the right candidate.

With that said, it would be crazy to work so hard to build a top recruiting class and then immediately leave.

You would take Tedford over Sumlin?! As a Beaver fan, I hope you get what you ask for. Tedford was 50-45 in PAC 10 play when he was at CAL and he left them in shambles. Kevin Sumlin would be a smooth transition from Taggert.

That might be mildly humorous to you.

On the flip side, I find 69-10 freakin hilarious.

My Beavs team got a coach that came with a pack of bubble gum in his glory days as a player!

the only Army Navy game I brought my Dad and youngest brother to was after I'd graduated and my middle brother was there. Day was cold Adonal Foyle in Old Giants stadium and we were up 51-6 in the middle of the 3rd quarter. They'd only won one other game all season, and people were chanting "We want 100!" I actually felt a bit bad for the Army dudes.

    Not that way for Ducks/Beavs?

Sumlin couldn't produce at A&M, the school with the highest revenue in the country. Outside of the Johnny Football years he has been 8-5 every season, except this season before being fired, he was 7-5. He is way too similar to Helfrich, both are extremely average coaches that were propped up by Hesiman QBs. Oh, and both are HORRID talent evaluators when it comes to coaching, both had horrendous DC hires.

I'm not saying Tedford would be my go to guy but at least he has Oregon ties, and has had a resurgence in his career. He knows how to recruit the west coast.

It feels like the extension UO offerred Willie at $4 mill/yr is a little light. I’d feel better about him singing the extension and passing on the FSU job if it was in the neighborhood of $6. Hopefully Uncle Phil ups the ante.

Please explain the phrase "Day was cold Adonal Foyle in Old Giants stadium..."

Solid points, I don’t think any hire would be a slam dunk unless it’s Frost who is going to Nebraska. Sumlin is an offensive guy who can recruit that’s why I think it would be a smooth transition, and out of the available coaches out there I don’t know of any better than Sumlin. McElwain? Miles? Baldwin?

AF represents "As Fuck" in internet speak. I'm not sure how it started, but the initials of Foyle being AF, it is now interchangeable.

I think Frost may be more interested in Oregon than Nebraska honestly. Certainly a more high profile job in today's cfb landscape, plus he is more familiar with the team and the people around the program.

Kiffin is a wild card too, he has a great X's and O's mind, can recruit well... it's just the off field stuff.

Frost is a Nebraska grad and it’s been reported that it’s pretty much already a done deal he ends up there after their game this weekend. It would be a solid hire but I think it’s probably too late for UO on that front. Kiffin is intriguing but man did he sure shit the bed at USC. And you don’t really want to hire someone with completely different offensive and defensive schemes because all that progress and momentum made this year could go to waste. I would expect they try to get someone who can come in with a very similar philosophy.

    It will get interesting.
