I think there is some legit panic here that, one day the Ducks have one of the best recruiting classes ever, the next day the guy who recruited them leaves, and a significant portion of those recruits either follow him or go somewhere else. Their top guy pretty much did the day it was announced he was considering FSU. More to come (err...not come) if he leaves.

Alumni give more money if teams are successful

What the fuck has Taggart done? Sumlin has won conference championships and produced a hesiman winner and also had great seasons in the hardest conference the SEC

Thank you! People love Taggart the recruiter not Taggart the coach. Besides I believe any semi young African American coach could recruit to Oregon with the resources and Nike backing that we have

Taggart was well known as one of the best recruiters in the country. Sumlin's teams got worse each year. Manzel committed to Oregon, then backed out and went to A&M.

A&M has been around 10th in recruiting every year with him in charge, but can't do better than 7-8 wins a year.

Not a fan. If it happens I'll support him until I shouldn't

But the sports programs still don't make academic side of the school any better off.
The only benefit they provide is 'advertising'. When a school has a good sports program, the number of applicants tend to increase.

Did I miss that. It makes more sense than Oregon actually. Good for him.

This can only mean that Mike Riley will be the Ducks next coach!!! That'll get the locals fired up!

Hopefully Willie drags this out for a couple of weeks. And just when the Ducks think he’s staying...he bolts for FSU!

You Duck fans that think it's no big deal if Taggart leaves are delusional. Coming from a Husky fan, I'll tell you this - I really hope he leaves. His recruiting ability alone scares the living shit out of me. He's reached levels of recruiting that Oregon has NEVER seen, and he did it IMMEDIATELY. It's ridiculous what he's achieved so far. His coaching ability means very little if you're loaded with talent. He could be an average coach, who knows? He could be a great coach, who knows? If Herbert stays healthy all year I think you'd be shitting your pants right now over him leaving. You'd have way more wins. I'd be in straight panic mode right now if I was a Duck fan.

    Go Dawgs.

That would be crazy! Haha. But what if he wins? Would that be worse for Beaver fans?
