This kid is indescribable. People who think he is just a dunker, could not be more wrong. He is truly a special player. Tonight against the number 2 team in the country Kentucky, he was UNSTOPPABLE!
He wasn't playing Lewis & Clark or Sisters of the Valley State. He absolutely DOMINATED them. Thought I'd make this thread, because I don't know how he won't go #1 this next draft.
He has handles, drops dimes and his post game is like a raw Barkley. Needs to work on a consistent outside shot, but the rest of his game is on another level.
6'7" 285 lbs. 6'11 wingspan and 45 inch vertical

He's totally going to the Cavs since they will get the all star game soon

Couldnt we just start a 2019 Draft Thread?

I'm worried about the pressure and load he's putting on those knees.

Seems like he's gonna be a great player. his scoring efficiency is impressive although I wouldn't say he's dominant. Gonna be the first pick, though, and a long time all star

Actualy. seeing he only played 23 minutes to reach these numbers. I may reconsider my stance regarding his dominance

He definitely dominated in that game....... but the thing that always worries me about a guy like that is where do you play him in the pros? Power forward? Small forward? I see some shades of Barkley, but Barkley was an insane rebounder. This guy only got 7 boards. He clearly likes to play on the perimeter. Does he have the quickness to A) get past NBA level wings, and B) defend NBA level wings? You have to find a position for a guy, and this guy kinda feels like a tweener. I guess we will see.

Previous years in the NBA being a tweener was a problem, now it's desired. Athletic Guys who can play multiple positions, position less basketball, that is the modern NBA.

Similar game to LeBron’s. Not quite as big though.

Only when those guys are long, quick, and agile. Look at LeBron. He's always one of the fastest guys on the court, even at his size. He's long, he's athletic, and he's fast.

College hoops doesn't have the length that the pros have. We won't know how he'll do in the pros until he gets there.

LeBron was/is sooooooooo fast. He was also not that heavy. He was a physical specimen. A total freak of nature.

Zion is a freak of nature too. I think they have similar skillsets. Nobody sees the court like LeBron though. Maybe Magic, but that’s about it.

Draymond isn't quick, but he hustles an plays smart

Draymond is such a weird comparison because he's a defensive specialist who just happened to get drafted by the perfect team for him. I don't think he makes a single All-Star team if he is on another team. Certainly not a guy that would be mentioned as a possible number one pick. Draymond went in the second round.

You are right, I don't think Zion and Green are similar players just trying to say the Tweener issue isnt nearly the issue it used to be. Before teams tried to fit a player into a specific position, but now positions are going out the window.

Zion is a freak athlete and will find a way to be on the court and perform at a high level.

I guess I'm skeptical. He's going to have to either become a really damn good shooter or he's going to have to show that he can defend fast players.

I do need to watch him more to check out his game beyond the freak athletic plays/dunks.

I could totally be wrong, but the NBA is trending more and more towards long, athletic players that can shoot. That's the name of the game now. That's why Aminu is still valuable and why he'll probably get a decent payday.

If Zion was a border line talent I would have more concern, but he appears to have a high NBA level of athleticism already.

Why don't you start one master thread that is just for you to add to whenever you come up with these great takes.Instead of clogging up the main page with a ton of threads like the Jinx does. Doesn't mean you can't still voice your well thought out takes, it justmakes this site easier to navigate.

Green font.

I guess???

The hardest part is trying to look at a kid and see if his talent will translate to the pros. Many players have absolutely dominated in college, only to just flop in the NBA.

Thomas Robinson is a perfect example of a super athletic tweener that couldn't get it going in the pros.

That's why Derek Williams, Michael Beasley and Anthony Bennett are all all-stars.
