So I didn't have a chance to go back, but if I'm not mistaken there were some self proclaimed college basketball "experts" that claimed Zion and Duke lighting up a Kentucky team early in the season didn't mean anything because they weren't a quality team this year. Now said Kentucky team is currently ranked #5 and just went and just THUMPED the #1 team in the country. Oh well.
They were not a quality team at the start of the year at all. And I believe that was in an argument with someone who said Gonzaga had "no chance" against Duke. I believe you backed up that argument. Gonzaga went on to beat Duke. Stay in your lane.
Gonzaga got smashed by the team that's about to lose to Duke. I HATE Duke, but I like Zion. I'll be rooting for him. Gonzaga beat Duke by 2 points... Stay in your lane...
I was just looking at dude's stats-- a PER of 42.3?! That's just insane. Then, I see who's second in the country at 37.3--some dude I've never heard of (because I basically don't watch CBB until March) at Gonzaga named Brandon Clarke. @BonesJones what's the story with this kid? Why is Hachimura getting all the pub and Clarke's a relative unknown?
Not necessarily. If there is a team out there that needs his position more than a big, they might justify going for him.
Rui has a more interesting story and is the better player. Clarke reminds me a lot of Jordan Bell. Transferred from Sam Jose State and is killin it. 6'8 shot blocker with a really quick jump and great instincts. Has also developed a little bit of a jumper and off the dribble game. Is a projected mid to late first round pick.
Imagine saying "Gonzaga has NO chance (at all)!" Then pivoting that into "They only won by two". Dumb.
