I feel like Zion is half Sir Charles, half Grandmama and half Anthony Mason. He's three halves of sheer terror. 150% of a basketball players.
I just hope he can stay healthy. LJ lost his athleticism pretty early if I remember correctly and turned into a shooter. Barkley stayed pretty healthy though.
LeBron is also huge and athletic and he's been pretty healthy overall. Now that we're past this whole "fat and out of shape" silliness, I don't think we should necessarily assume he's going to struggle to stay healthy. It's definitely possible that he's injury-prone, considering he's had two significant injuries, but we're seeing more large and athletic players in the league and staying healthy so I wouldn't go by his body type.
LeBron always looked like a healthy size for his height. He's currently 6'9 and 250 lbs. Zion is 6'7 and 284. That's just a lot of weight on that frame. It takes a toll on the knees. Eventually he won't have that crazy quick first step.
I just think with guys that have the chance to be a generational talent, people are quick to critique and tear down. Shit just read the first few pages of this thread. After his first college game, it used to be......”wait til he plays REAL competition” and comments like that. I just wish people would sit back and enjoy. Watching a YOUNG player put up historical stats. No need to hate.
If the above post was taken as an insult to anybody, please don’t contact my employer and try to get me fired. These are opinions of @THE HCP and not of his company or the NBA in general.
You trying to take away my god-given rights to call your employer to complain offends me. I'd like to speak with your manager.
That haircut isn't as intimidating. You're going for a "I demand to speak to your manager" vibe. She just doesn't give that.
That was her character in The Good Place, and she was really good at the character. Good show if you haven't seen it.
Always makes me wonder about all-time numbers if players could have consistently gone straight from HS or one year of college to the NBA. Larry Johnson played college ball for 4 years and entered the NBA as a 22 year-old rookie. Jordan played three years of college and was 22 his rookie season. Bird five years basically in college with the transfer and he was 23 as a rookie and turned 24 a month into the season. Kareem was 22 as a rookie. Meanwhile most of the stars today entered the NBA before they were 20 with a few exceptions like Dame and CJ. Zion played 33 games at Duke. Kyrie Irving played 11 games.
I don’t know. Ja hasn’t really improved much this year, if at all, and his 3-point shot is abysmal. He’s a slightly above-average PG based on most advanced metrics.
