How about a format like baseball... if the game goes to OT, the visitor gets the ball first. If they score, the home team has a chance to tie or go ahead for the win. Keep going until either the visitor is ahead after the home team has had a chance, or until the home team is in the lead. Or the home team can decide if they want to receive first instead, but then the same rules would apply. Just a thought... but it really does need to change.
baseball's formant fits the game that you bat, but n football its a possession game. i think colleges is perfest unless you play another full quarter and have a FG contast if its still tied.
