Rade Zagorac will be cut or traded. There's another guy that'd upgrade our bench. *waits for BNM to cherry pick and paste his basketball ref stats to argue otherwise.*
Is Wade Baldwin really that bad? He averaged 3 ppg last year, that doesn't seem completely terrible for a rookie picked 17th.
Memphis just has too many guaranteed contracts, after signing all their draft picks, and apparently couldn't find trade partners.
It's funny to me that he was a 2nd round pick in 2016, they just signed him about 3 months ago, with the first 2 years guaranteed. Then got through camp and...whoops! Nevermind. I know nothing about him. I don't see how he'd necessarily upgrade our bench over someone like Jake, except for the grass being greener. But maybe as a GLeague prospect to watch/2 way player? I dunno. Memphis also looking to cut or trade their other 2016 draftee, 17th overall pick Wade Baldwin. PG with defensive potential. Avery Bradley-ish potential? Comes in as a PG, but likely more off ball player, defender that can potentially cover 1 and 2s with his length and strength?
You might be right, I just have a thing for European players, mainly because I've seen most of them play. I still think we need help on the wing and he's a good prospect stuck in a less than ideal situation.
Memphis drafted him #17 only 1 year ago, and now cuts him? I gotta look this guy up. https://www.basketball-reference.com/dleague/players/b/baldwwa01d.html Good: Unlike some 6 foot 4 rookie "point guards," he got more assists than rebounds. Therefore, he's a natural PG. Bad: His 3-point % was 31%. Wouldn't fit the Stotts system.
No need to even look up his stats. We're not supposed to rely on our rookie first round picks, who actually made an NBA roster, but you want to depend on somebody else's rookie second rounder, who got cut, to make our bench better? Pick one genius. BNM
Zagorac isnt a freshman out of college, he's coming from a professional league playing against guys much older and physically mature than him. Basketball ref doesn't take that into account?
My new team did something! I guess that late addition Royce O'Neal made the team. C Rudy Gobert (France) Ekpe Udoh (Oklahoma, despite the name) Tony Bradley PF Derrick Favors Jonas Jerebko (Sweden) Joel Bolomboy (born in Ukraine, high school in Texas) SF Joe Ingles (Australia) Joe Johnson Thabo Sefolosha (Switzerland) Royce O'Neal SG Rodney Hood Alec Burks Donovan Mitchell Nazareth Mitrou-Long (Canada) Torian Graham PG Ricky Rubio (Spain) Raul Neto (Brazil) OUT FOR MONTHS PG Dante Exum (Australia) TWO-WAY CONTRACTS SF Eric Griffin PG Nate Wolters
Apparently neither do the Memphis Grizzlies. I didn't mention basketball-reference. MEM who knows him better, has scouted him more and seen him play doesn't think he's worthy of an NBA roster spot. BNM
It's funny how cut and dry your arguments become when you're arguing against a player. When you defend them all of a sudden the previous five systems the player was in didn't fit his skills, etc, etc. Whatever you say.
Funny how when you can't counter my cut and dry argument you resort to attacking the poster not the post. Try to stay on topic Skippy. BNM
On topic? Please lead me to where you mentioned anything about Zagorac' ability on the court and I'll gladly "stay on topic."
Does this count? Also: think of players like Hassan Whiteside, waived repeatedly before he found a role. Likewise JaVale McGee. It's quite often the case that a guy the coaches would've kept if they could gets waived because a team has committed to to many other guaranteed contracts. (NB: I'm not defending Gerald Green. Keep away from THAT guy.)
Yea and Memphis is a pretty solid organization too. I think it's a better policy to chase players released from a bad franchise. I'll take whatever Vlade Divac thinks is bad.
