One of the more concerning injuries for me was Webster's foot last year. The medical staff cleared him to go back out on the floor when clearly his body was not ready.
But Outlaw fits that as well, if his foot was hruting him, and he was cleared to play. Maybe his continued play didn't make a difference, but it certainly didn't help. Same with Batum's shoulder, continuing to play last season and this summer. Is there a way to have looked for this problem with Rudy when the injury happened? Or is it something that can happen over time?
Did Outlaw say anything about his foot? Seems to me he said he landed and heard a "pop". That would mean the injury occured at that point.
I mean to the trainers, although I also heard that he had an MRI on his foot earlier this season, and it came up clean.
Also, Oden, chipped patella last season vs Golden State. Medical staff/front office opted not to have surgery. (Probably because there would have been backlash to Oden being out Again) I think this played a part in the big fellas injury, and why the hell wasn't he wearing knee braces/pads? Batum's injury: flew all the way from europe to see the Blazers "specalists" who cleared him to play, and, what do you know? Out for season. Good job!
