See my cat post. My tame cat Zoey brought home a snake, bit off and ate the head, and left the decapitated body under the dining table. I decided it was symbolic; the snake was Green and the cat showing what the Blazers need to do. Metaphorically, of course.

Maybe a dead rat has some symbolism for the series? It's a veritable menagerie in my house. (I always think it's weird that people get cats, let them out, and freak when they hunt. Cats and their ancestors have been hunting for tens of millions of years, if it bugs you, keep them inside or stick with hamsters. But I digress.)
