I just don't understand how a jump shooter can't hit free-throws, his average this year is terrible...

And people don't hate Outlaw, they hate his inconsistent play for a 6th year man.

You argued for why you understand how someone could react on an emotional level, such that they become stupid; ie; close their eyes to the entire picture so they can gather a more complete truth beyond the schoolyard stupidity of "they" called me a name = everyone hates me.

You didn't present a reasoned argument with truths about the incident. Whether you "understand" how the cousin could have reacted that way or not, does not change the fact that he misled Travis to the true state of affairs. Travis would be best served not paying attention to this cousin. He is pretty clueless about this aspect of the world.

    Speaking of schoolyard, this is how you silence the "haters" Travis;

    "Scoreboard bitches".

I'll like Travis more if he'd take fans for rides in his fly whips!

He must know the coaches hate him too then, since I'm sure the fans and the coaches get on Outlaw about the same things.

Yeah, i remember being sad a few weeks back. I don't think anyone hates him, we just critique his game, which is what you do on message boards. He does get a lot of unneeded hate in my opinion, but he also has some qualities that are tough on fans.

oh well, i like Travis. Rebound and take good shots and work hard on D and i'm extremely happy w/ him.

Yeah, you aren't reacting emotionally at all when you call his cousin a "fucking moron" and then say I'm as stupid as his cousin (meaning a fucking moron) because I can understand where he's coming from...

It's funny this means so much to you that you're actually breaking down the sentence word by word. Let's forget the fact that Travis was simple summarizing their conversations and the quotes shouldn't be taken literally. For all we know, the actually words the cousin used were different.

People generalize, that's a fact of life. His cousin's not going to say, "Look man, 6% of Blazer fans think you don't rebound enough and critique your game, as well as others, on an emotional and sometimes unfair level, bro." That's not going to happen.

I'm not going to go look for it because I could care less, but Travis has been insulted every bit as bad as you just insulted his cousin, so his cousin knows more than you on the subject apparently. I wonder what that makes you?

Well I'm just waiting to go into a meeting and had a little time, so I took twenty of my precious minutes and looked for this hate. It wasn't hard to find.

Just the tip of the iceberg, but this post is getting too damn long already. But yeah, I can't for the life of me understand why a relative of Travis Outlaw would think Portland hated him. It just boggles my f'ing mind.

And Masbee, your a total dweeb. Could you dissect that sentence too?

    It's "you're", not "your".

Wow, an anonymous dis of the Outlaw family. Not usually Masbee's style.

Travis, pleny of us recognize what your role is and what the coaching staff expects you to do. It isn't an easy role, but some "fans" have a hard time digesting what is expected of a player with a defined role.

So what is expected in the "role". I would like to think that defined role would ask for consistency in performance. Since you threw it out there, what is role that he is succeeding so well at? I would like to see your definition of it. :pimp:

His primary role is to come in and score with the second unit. Some nights bench players hit, some nights they don't. That is why they are on the bench. The fact he blocks shots and gets steals is secondary IMO. He has a better and more defined right now than Rudy Fernandez. It will be interesting to see which of these two is traded.

Outlaw is the NBA player definition of High-risk, High-reward. Some games he looks like the best player on the floor; swishing jumpers, swatting shots. Some games he looks like the 15th man; making bad passes and dribbling the ball off his feet...

Don't hate him, just get used to it... that's what I've done.

'Waaaah, the fans don't like me, Waaaaaah'. Who cares if you are getting millions a year to play a game for 20 minutes a night?

Many fans do like him and appreciate what he brings both inside and outside of the locker room. I'd advise any player to not read any "fan" board. One crazy can influence an entire site. I'm not sure where Travis was crying in this thread, however.

Actually, he HAS made them all. He has taken THREE game winning shots in his career and he has hit all three.
