    Agreed... Once the Beavers can no longer afford Jonathan Smith maybe he'll come coach for the Ducks?

    Sorry. That was a low blow... But the Beavers are really set up well right now with talent AND what I think is a great coach. This really sucks.

    I agree. I hate this all around. Smith just coached the huskies as oc for awhile and grew up loving usc. He is a sentimental kind of guy.

    "The Big Ten is in the final stages of negotiating an expansion to 18 teams and adding the Universities of Oregon and Washington, industry sources told Yahoo Sports.

    The move adds a Pacific Northwest presence to the arrival of USC and UCLA while bringing two known football brands to the Big Ten’s broadcast offerings.

    Both schools are expected to agree to a cut rate — perhaps as low as 50 percent — of the Big Ten’s media revenue that could reach $65 million/year per institution. That is still more than the Pac-12’s proposed media deal with Apple TV+, which is estimated to be in the $20-25 million range.

    While contracts are not signed, deals have been agreed to in principle. Big Ten presidents met Friday morning to discuss expansion and settled concerns about increased travel and the logistics of an 18-team conference.

    After a roller coaster of exploration and negotiation across the week, the Ducks and Huskies will exit the Pac-12, leaving the 108-year-old league with an uncertain future."

    I would assume at this point Apple has withdrawn their media contract offer

    and it seems almost certain that Arizona/ASU/Utah will be headed to the Big-12

    leaving Stanford/Cal/OSU/WSU as a Pac-4. Lots of chatter that Stanford might go independent, but even if they don't, there doesn't seem to be any path for those teams other than joining the MWC.

    Again... if Oregon's goal is to make the playoff with an inferior roster, resources for coaches/recruiting, and experience against quality competition, then they made a bad choice.

    If Oregon's goal is to increase their chance of competiting when they do make the playoffs, the choice to move to the BigTen is a no-brainer.

    I'm trying to remember...are you a Beaver fan?...because you're sure posting like it

    do you think that OSU/WSU didn't approach the Big-12 to see if they could gain entry? The Pac-12 was dying and every school ended up looking out for themselves. Some just had better options
