If the Big 10 offers Oregon, I don't see them turning them down. It's too good of an offer.

    Is it?
Go from being the big dog in their conference to being the equivalent of Michigan State?

    More money.

    A seat at the table.

It's going to be hard to keep up with recruiting if the Ducks are in a second rate conference, and the PAC will be considered second rate.

ESPN could still counter along with ACC. They are as interested in the West coast too.
Maybe Apple ups their offer with ESPN helping?

I think it also makes sense to have a larger chunk on the west coast. They get the Bay Area, LA, and the PNW media markets. And Cal/Stanford bring a lot of academic panache.

More important is to be relevant nationally and keep the brand.
Big 10 fans don't give a crap about Oregon and won't care if the Ducks become a mediocre team in a big-money conference.

I look forward to when the Big 10 has to split up into divisions and puts UW, Oregon, Stanford, Cal, USC and UCLA into the "Pac 6 Division of the Big 10".

I don't think Oregon will be mediocre. We have done well against Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Ohio State.
