Has anyone been watching he summer league games?
Hunter was a first round pick by Boston and looks to be much more ready as a back up sg than pat.
I think we need to release pat today and bring hunter into camp.

Sorry Patty. Love your team support but we just need more.

    Discuss.

Technically they could bring hunter to camp regardless.

    My answer however is neither.

Whom what? To fill the last roster spot? I'd rather leave it open than have either of them lol

For what purpose? We can always use backup ball handlers who can shoot.
If you leave it open you its to bring someone in. But if we bring someone in in s trade, odds are we are sending out two or three for one or two. We will be opening up spots that way.
We have to pay pat or let him go to day I believe. I say give hunter a chance. I think there is more upside and he has a better shot. Kinda reminds me of a young Matt Barnes. Smaller but better handles and shot.

Well, both would be 3rd stringer emergency players. Napier and Crabbe are the backup guards. And they'd play Turner at guard before putting in a 3rd stringer I suspect. I haven't got to see much of RJ. I'd just as soon keep Pat since he knows the system, but I don't know if he's cut out for basketball. His shooting is just too eratic. An NBA guard should be kicking butt in summer league.

Exactly. Except hunter is on our squad and learning our system so I don't think that's much of an issue. He would be there for foul trouble purposes. But I think has higher potential upside or crack he regular rotation and possibly become an asset. Pat should move on to baseball. He looked atrocious in summer league before he got injured.

Don't have to make a decision on Patty until July 25th last I heard. I think he is gone but not for RJ.

Pat will make 1.4 this year if they pick up his option. He did not look good in his brief appearance in SL, but they did seem to be experimenting with him and Hunter both as facilitators as they started them together. Both looked bad trying. But neither would be in that position in regular season. I would say PC is the better defender of the two and RJ is the better shooter. Which one do we need more coming off the bench. Offense or defense?

Pat said if the Blazers make the Summer League championship game he will play. I'm predicting a 40pt, 14ast, 10rbd game from him that wins us the championship.
