If Howard goes to the Lakers, I have a feeling that the state of Florida just might declare war on California. If that happens to be the case, I will be firmly in the Floridian camp.

The obvious trade: Pau to Memphis for Rudy Gay. Odom becomes the starting PF for the Lakers.

It makes too much sense NOT to happen: it's the final stage in the redemption of Chris Wallace. The reunion of Pau and Battier. Memphis would have the best big man rotation in the league. And they would have unloaded that stupid contract.

Wow, that's actually pretty interesting from so many angles. And, I think it's fair when everything is taken into account.

Would Pau, Marc, or ZBo accept a bench role?

LA might be interested in grabbing Mayo, the guy would probably make a great point in the triangle and the LA connections are obvious. Maybe Pau/Artest for Gay/Mayo? The lakers would get a lot younger which they'd love, Memphis would be firmly in the win-now camp.

ZBO would not. but I suspect that one of the brothers might be willing to acquiesce, as long as all received sufficient minutes. Pau is also getting older now and might even thrive in a more limited roll. And if the news about Pau being pissed at a teammate is true, then he might also love the idea of finding a new team that includes family.

Memphis is getting real lucky playing Russian Roulette right now, I doubt they would want to chamber one more round with Artest. At least I would have interest if I were making the decisions. As far as trading Mayo, I don't think the Grizz should give him up is a package like that.

Absolutely true. Fuck how much I would love for the Blazers to win 2 titles. I would be more than happy to be in "rebuilding mode" now, if we won two titles until now.

Have we ever made any trade in the history of our existence with the Purple & Piss?

I'd do that deal, much as I like Miller and Wallace. No way the Lakers' front office reacts like a bunch of whiny Lakers fans, though.

Still, LOL at Stephen Jackson starting ahead of Wallace at SF, and Wallace merely backing up PF.

I like how they magically get Landry for the minimum, and Dwight for Bynum.

Yeah. Though I'm actually worried about that. Faced with losing Howard for nothing, Bynum might be the best offer they get. Bynum, while nowhere near Howard, is still a pretty valuable player and young.

Bynum has not his ceiling yet. And he's stuck on a team where Pau and Kobe were getting all the shots. Make him the man and he could end up better than Howard.

Howard has been the most dominant big man in the game, there is no way Bynum could exceed that production. If Bynum did he would be the best player of all time.
