Well I have so say what the f*** are the celts thinking? They traded probably most of there future players that were gona be good for to vets who are way past there prime. Payton may make a come back this season, but he is still 34 years old.

what a wierd trade. i dont even know what to think

    umm...

i dont know what to think or say [IMG]

i guess its bad and good for both teams. there are two ways of looking at it. cets loose some depth and some future good players...but add a future hall of famer, and set themselfs up to have more available cap space then any other team. lakers loose their point guad but add depth.

what a wierd trade. my guess is that lakers are gonna make a move for jason kidd

nah dog,he's 36. He's alot closer to 40 than 30 and that means his time is drawing to a close.

This had to be a cap move tho'..otherwise it doesn't make alot of sense.

Mihm is BACK with the Lakers? When did he ever play for them before? He spent his entire career in Cleveland before being traded to Boston.

Well, I don't see Marcus Banks as a starter, nor Mihm? With them in the rotation LA won't go far in the west.

Pretty much a good trade for the Celtics. Gary should've opted out then become a tradeing piece for another team. A steal for the Celtics IMO. GAry Payton may be old but hes still a top 10 PG in the league. The Lakers just weren't his fit.I just dont see how a 20 PPG player one year comes back next year and averages 8 PPG in the Playoofs. It had to be because of the triangle. Gary Payton is also a name that sells tickets. This trade is basically for cap room so the Celtics can pick up a Big name player down the road from here.

    You'll never know..

You'll never know for the Lakers and Celtics, you don't know whats up the coaches sleave.. they both have new coaches.. Doc Rivers and Rudy T. I have a feeling Doc will bring something out of Gary or draft picks like he did with T-Mac in Orlando.. Rudy T... I dont know yet... I bet Marcus Banks will be shooting above average though..

Its for CAP space really. And when the Glove runs out of juice theyll have some cap available. Mark Blount is really the Celtics main future too and has a lot of potential. PAyton, Pierce, and Blount could be a nice trio. Personally I'd be happy is I were a Celics fan.

I feel Sorry for Gary though. Ever since the Sonics traded him he has just become an ideal trading piece. Half a sason in Milwaukee, 1 season in LA, and probably 1 season in Boston and then he'll opt out. I feel sorrry for the Glove. Hopefully his glove will have a ring on it by the end of his career.
