The best part about Pek would be taking him from Minny.

Pek will be sought after for a reason, he is a true NBA center. (I love the idea of Hickson coming off the bench for Pek or LA, but that may be difficult to accomplish.) To have a big body like Pek on the Blazers is just what they need. He serves as an enforcer in terms of clogging up the middle and not having players go flying to the basket.

I don't think any team will be offering him teh max. I think Minny will match a 10 mil/yr offer which shows you what Minny thinks of Pek. The tough part is Pek is a restricted free agent and only way Blazers get him is by significantly overpaying for him so Minny doesn't match (no way Kahn does a deal with Olshey).

Minny can be played with this summer. They could potentially lose AK. Rubio will be looking for a big contract in a year (even though some think he is the worst PG in the league) and Love is a big old mind fuck for the Wolves organization. Wolves have a lot of decisions to make this summer, starting with Pek.

    He'll get what Hibbert got.

A 4-year deal is a perfect timeframe -- Leonard will need all that time to develop.

Kahn will have to pay him the max to keep him. Something he didn't do with Love.

I watched a lot of T-Wolves games last year ... and Rubio was fun to watch. I've only watched them twice this year, once against the Blazers minus Rubio and one other time after he came back. Division enemy or not, that is not a good time watching that group play basketball.

very well thought out arguement. I am in agreement. It is super hard to guage players on shitty teams..when we picked up Damon he was banging points like El Prez and hookers. Could never expect him to put up 30 a night on a good team.

It will be interesting to see what Utah does. Millsap and Jefferson are free agents. I am not sure either is worth the money they will want. I love Millsap but more as a 6th man. Kind of a tweener although he can actually play both positions.

Jefferson needs a major pay cut. Will they even make an offer to him with Favors and Kanter there? Earl Watson is also a free agent, and Marvin Williams has a player option.

Who will they want to keep and how big of a player will they be at the trade deadline. Maybe they offer Kanter for Pec and team him up with Favors. Trade Al or let him walk. I bet they let Millsap walk too.

That's why we have to sign him. How many opportunities will the Rose Garden concessions have to offer

    PekkerWich $14.95

    Pekker on a Stick $9.95

Sorry, if he's supposed to be a decent man defender, and his DRTG is only high because of his crap team around him, not him, then you think he would play more time on the opponents best post player, yet they seemed tonight content with him floating around primarily, and Cunningham, Gelable, Williams, etc. covering him. You'd think they'd have tried putting him on LMA afew more times there.

The problem there is that it's actually Lillard who burns Pek in that situation. By putting Dante on LA, the much more mobile Dante is able to double Lillard when LA goes up for the pick. Much more effective than sending Pek up there with Barea. Lillard blasted between Pek and Barea every time, and either got an open jump shot or a good pass to LA for a jumper.

Pec is a good player. But I would not pay over 9-10 million for him. He is better than what we have right now, but is just too limited to get into a bidding war over. He has too many deficiencies. We need to find another option.

9-10? I'm uncomfortable going over 7. I'm okay with it if that that leaves PDX out of the Pek mix

Pek is a big body, but defensively; he is no better, maybe even worse than Hickson. The only thing PEk has going for him is his ability to score in the paint. Other than that; he's just average at best.

NOW scoring in the paint is really important; but I think having that defensive anchor is even more important. WE need a center that protects the rim and I don't think Pek is that player.

No way I would pay Pek anything close to max money. Yeah, he's a good rebounder and a burly dude but also has some big holes in his game.

Lets not blow money just for the sake of blowing money. I think Olshey knows that however. He sat out this last summer after missing out on Hibbert.

Kind of missing Dante Cunningham after last night. He's worthless on offense when somebody guards him, but when Aldridge was forgetting about him at 18 feet he was just killing it. And I've always loved his defensive effort and versatility.

Hmm, looking over their salary situation, he's about the only guy on their roster signed to a bargain contract next year on their team.

How on earth did Kahn let that one slip through? I would have expected him to have paid the standard 150% ex-Blazer tax.

Great point. he has said he wants to get the starting unit in order before dealing with the bench. Also has said h pdesn't want to sacrifice long term gain for short term gain. Any thoughts on how to accomplish that with the center position?
