Yes, that's it. Dumb hoodrat. Probably gay too. Should have been shot more just because he was gay.

I guarantee you that I know more gay men than anyone on this website except Kingspeed. Even that might not be a big lead.

See, my wife has managed hair salons for 15 years. I've met and talked to probably over 100. I went to a gay wedding in Vegas and hadn't met the man who was marrying the man I knew.

I saw him out front waiting for someone and being Vegas there were 10 weddings going on. He was black and had a deep voice, when I was introduced to him as the guy marrying the other guy I knew my gaydar wasn't 100 percent accurate as I had thought it was.

(Edit, maybe crandc knows more, whatever.)

Why would anyone who speaks proper English want to hang out with people who speak like morons?

If I meet a redneck who asks me if I can "borrow him" some money I don't want to be buddies.

Oh Dviss, one more thing. My gramps taught me how to change the channel and adjust the rabbit ears on our tv.

I haven't regularly changed a tv channel without a remote in 30 years. He also taught me the N word, guess I can keep using it then...it's what I was taught.

What language former slaves were taught over 100 years ago doesn't mean shit now. We have public schools.

And I can't run around calling people the N word either.

I would first like to apologize for some of the words and terms I used in my failed humorous attempt to explain how he was shot. It was not my intention to offended anyone. I have deleted the post but I would like to clarify a few things.

I was intentionally trying to be over the top. I wasn't trying to be racist.

I used terms like Humpty Dumpty for sex. I don't recall anyone white or black ever using that as a euphemism for sex. And I especially don't think Mr Jones had.

Baby Mama, I swear to god I didn't know this was a black thing. I've heard this multiple times, I think... I think the first time I actually heard it was a Beastie Boys song.

Who dat, this was intentional. He played for the Pelicans, Louisiana is the Who Dat state. I only know this because I have relatives in Louisiana. Not a black thing. Maybe he said it, maybe he didn't. If I had to guess I would say he did.

I was not in anyway stating that he deserved to be shot because of his grammar.

Again, I was only in a humorous way attempting to show that he got shot out of a series of tragic mistakes and not because of drugs or some of the other reasons given.

I'm sorry, I can understand why some of you would think that what I posted was racist, that's why I have deleted my post.

Very interesting thread to tell you the truth. Couple things-
Half my friends, half my school and half my neighborhood growing up were black. The hip hop culture didn't really take hold of kids probably til after I graduated HS (1990). I remember going to summer camp or even playing pickup games in different parts of town and hearing other kids make fun of how I talked. The "black" slang I used or the cadence of my speech. It really got shoved in my face after HS when I went into the Army. Rednecks and hillbillies would not only give me shit for hanging out with the "brothers", but would crack on the music I listened to and the way I spoke. I think some stereotypes of how people talk and act are accurate. When I walk into a convenience store in NC while traveling for work, I look up and have already predetermined what the guy behind the counter will sound like. It's what it is.
You guys were mentioning how gay people speak. Interesting, my wife and I were talking about this the other night. Watching a show with a gay guy speaking and wondered how that happens. I'd say half the gay guys I know have a very feminine way of speaking. Is it a learned behavior?
The HCP loves all races and people of all sexual orientations. Like The Stylistics said, "People Make The World Go 'Round"..........

PS....... That said, stereo types don't just make themselves up.

Four of the five gay men I hang out with on a regular basis have a 'gay' accent. They don't all talk like that, but there could be an internal want to be proud of who they are and subconsciously change their speech patterns.

They are however perpetuated by the ignorant thought that all the members of a certain demographic behave in the same way. We all perpetuate this ignorance. Instead of assuming based upon what media shows us, (they are responsible for colorism) meet some people, accept who the fuck they are, then live and let live. It's pretty fucking easy.

Some stereotypes really do make themselves up. When Reagan talked about big bucks getting food stamps and welfare queens, does anyone doubt what color they were? Even though Caucasians were more likely to get federal benefits?

Side note, when I was in high school there were kids who made fun of me for having a big nose. I don't have a big nose. I have a very ordinary nose. But since everyone knows Jews have big noses they did not need to use their eyes. They KNEW I had a big nose without looking.

(Actually Mediterranean people tend to have prominent noses. Many Jews trace ancestry to the Mediterranean. So do Spaniards, Arabs, Persians, Turks, Italians, and many others. It was a major crossroad so you see Mediterranean features all over the world.)

It's too easy to excuse bigotry by saying "we all perpetuate this ignorance". No one is exempt from the prejudices of our society, but some people consciously and deliberately perpetuate and promote bigotry. Others follow. Some actively fight it. You just can't draw an equal sign between all behaviors.

Did any post in this thread imply that all the members of a certain demographic behave in the same way?

    Speaking of stereotyping:

A young woman with a baby son was killed a week before her high school graduation and the school decided to let the child accept his mother's diploma. A person who did not know any of the people involved took it on herself to slut shame the deceased mother, the father, the baby, the school and the entire community, based on no knowledge and stereotypes. The principal wrote an epic takedown. Worth reading in light of discussion here.
