This a deeper draft than 2012. Should be much better options than Meyers Leonard at the 11th pick. In this mock draft of 2012, they have Meyers going at #9. https://bleacherreport.com/articles...-2012-pick-by-pick-predictions-for-rounds-1-2
yeah, it doesn't make any sense. They were already locked into a home play-in game against the Spurs the only reason I can think of: about the time CJ was pulled in the 1st Q, it was official that the Wizards lost and that meant, no matter what, the Wizards would be ahead of the Pels in the lottery order. That meant the worst case scenario for the Pels was that they gave up an 11th pick for CJ; so they could brag they didn't give up a top-10 pick for him. That's not much of a reason though and they might not even have worried about it
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...ng-zion-williamson-young-new-orleans-pelicans 8-2 with CJ and Ingram in the lineup, albeit with several of those wins against weak competition, is the reason for the perception the CJ trade turned their season around. Ingram missing 13 games since CJ arrived understates how much better they've been.
so, they played 15 games together but you guys only want to count 10 of those games? And 5 of those 8 wins came against Lakers, Blazers, and Kings?
Its a stat from the article. It does make some sense as those other games were the first week CJ/Ingram played together . But then NO won 3 times against the Lakers after the break, so who knows.
One thing I just noticed, it appears if the Spurs win tonight then beat the Clippers the NO Pick we get will move ahead of the Spurs from #11 to #10? Then we would be #6 and #10, or if we win the lottery we would get #1 and #10. Pretty good. I would think odds are if we don't move into the top4 we slide back at least a spot from #6 though.
ok. I guess, somewhat theoretically the Pels do have good roster balance with CJ-Ingram-Zion-Valunciunas. But those guys need to all play for a while together to determine how effective it is. The reason the Pels are hosting the play-in game is that in their last 8 games they played the Lakers-Blazers-Kings 6 times and won 5 of those games
Gotcha. The stat omits the 1-4 start after the trade. Funky stat then, but a reasonable point it's trying to make: success following the initial adjustment period.
