I agree with Nik and PD- that it should be Outlaw vs Pendy for back up PF... that is the REAL question. If Jeff P can keep up his current level of production and ferocity, I would lean toward Pendy in that debate. The last thing this team needs is more softy jump shooters, IMO. Aldridge is just so much more proven that A v P isn't even a question.... they are also completely different and probably complimentary players. A banger backup PF is what many (including me) have thought we needed for a long time. I couldn't be more stoked if our 2nd rounder turns into a serviceable option there.
Jesus Christ - these threads are getting so old. But somehow I get the feeling that you're going to keep making them . . . so here are some suggestions for upcoming topics: * make the playoffs or not making the playoffs? * Oden: do you prefer him injured or healthy? * Kingspeed or Trout (who's more popular?) Oh wait, someone already made one of those threads . . .
Pendergraph had 14 rebounds through three quarters on Wednesday. It's not his fault that he didn't play in the 4th.
to use KS logic: Even in his best game ever as a pro, JP couldn't beat out 36 y/o former All-Star Howard for 4th quarter minutes Howard couldn't beat out a healthy LMA for 4th quarter minutes. therefore, JP<JH<LMA By the associative principle, JP<LMA. Q.E.D. Thread over!
Learn the game. Cunningham played PF. And it was BS. Not Pendergraph's fault. Pendy had 8 points & 14 rebounds after three quarters. He did all he could do. LMA hasn't done that through three quarters this season.
So wait, you're saying that instead of Howard in the proof, it should've been Cunningham? I'm not sure that makes your case stronger. JP<DC<LMA therefore JP<LMA. Still works. Or, in a different way, JP couldn't crack the 4th quarter rotation of Howard and Cunningham (and Webster for about a minute) at the PF/C? And he's on par with (or better than?) LMA now? Game learned.
8 points, 14 rebounds What exactly did Pendergraph do to get benched in the 4th? Please take a break from this forum for a few weeks to learn the game and then post.
I can't. My contract with Denny says I have to read every post. Now that others have gone, I'm tasked with 50 posts per day to keep the $$ flowing in. What am I gonna do? Follow your reasoning for a second and you'll see I'm on your side here and that the insults aren't appropriate. JP was having the game of his life and basically grabbing everything in sight. AND YET, he was playing behind a trio of Webster, Cunningham and Howard at the 4/5. Cunningham, who played almost the entire 4th, was behind both LMA and Tolliver on the depth chart a week ago. Therefore, either JP is not as good as LMA, Howard, Cunningham or Webster at the 4/5 position, OR whoever's in charge of the rotations decided JP couldn't help us in the 4th. You decide.
http://www.nba.com/games/20091116/PORATL/gameinfo.html#nbaGIboxscore Bayless couldn't beat out Blake for minutes. Obviously, Blake is better than Bayless.
