Maybe a deal with the Avs for O'Reilly is in play. Avs have been a rumored partner for awhile now. Brassard/MDZ/Boyle/pick package going there for O'Reilly and D?

I think we'll see a deal soon. I bet within 2 weeks. Too much smoke and talk. Something will pop as we continue to struggle, and Staal comes back which frees up a dman.

That one I'd like. I'm also in the trade nash now camp before he regresses any further. Get what you can in assets and get rid of his salary. Would much rather see kreider 4 on 4 than him anyway. Al, your right that a concussion is nothing to play with or joke about. But at the same time he owes it to the team who he is strapping salary cap wise that if he can't play hard because he's afraid he won't remember his name when he's forty he needs to quit. I'm sure his contract is insured and he'll get his money that way but doing the team absolutely no good playing scared like he is

I don't see Nash getting dealt at all right now. I think Sather brings in top 6 help for him rather than just shipping him out. I have faith he'll come back around.

I think O'Reilly makes sense because he's a natural C but he's playing real well at LW this year. He can finish out this year as a wing then slide over to C next season when Richards is bought out. Then we wouldnt have to get into a bidding war for a number 1 C like Stasny in the offseason and can put money into other areas. What do you say Glen?

Toronto GM loves Nash. They tried to get him before. JVR is slightly better version of Anisimov so I don't think he is untouchable over there.

I've wanted O'Reilly here for a while. However, MDZ won't get it done. They will ask for pieces like Kreider, Miller and Hagelin. I assume they would want MDZ and Hagelin for O'Reilly. As much as I would like to keep Hagelin, I'd have to do that. I honestly would love O'Reilly, Stepan and Miller down the middle going forward. I think they could then dump Girardi, Brassard and Boyle for help on the wings.

We are not trading Nash. My lord we are fickle in here. Yes he has struggled, but we are not dealing him. We need to hope he comes around, and I think he will at some point. He is much better than this.

As for the Avs, I would think better shot they deal O'Reilly if Stastny wasn't a FA this summer. I doubt they want to lose both of those guys. Not saying it can't happen, but it will take a very good offer for them to deal him IMO.

Agreed. It will take a very good offer to get O'Reilly IMO.

And here's Eklund's take from yesterday (take it for what it's worth): "...with the freeze coming to a close, the rumors of Max Pacioretty possibly being moved to the Rangers for Del Zotto are persistent"

I would do that in a second, but I doubt the Habs would. I bet we would need to add something else. I do feel we make some deal withi a week or two. Something will happen soon.

chuck, how long do we have to wait for Nash to come around. Who knows if he ever be the same player again. I've been saying it for weeks. He does not seem to be that guy you win the cups with.

Yeah it would definitely take more than MDZ for Pac but probably less than what getting O'Reilly would cost. I really don't like Pac but he's got size and he scores.

Why on earth are the Habs trying to move Pacioretty. I heard he and Subban don't get along with the coach. If the Rangers got Pacioretty by some miracle, that would make Nash really expendable. They couldn't possibly want MDZ for Pacioretty. I absolutely think they want Boyle because they are a small team. I would think they would want Hagelin because they love speed.

I would be on board with making a play for him Prod. He has size and can score like you said, but with our luck he'll come here and get soft, and score 12 goals a season...LOL.

Chuck, I agree under normal circumstances we don't trade nash if he's in a slump. Unfortunately, after 2 concussions, the last one not much contact he is damaged goods and is never going to be the same. Time to trade him is now before the next concussion.

They are not going to deal Nash. Take that to the bank. Once again we are on fire. Trade Nash. Trade Cally. Trade Girardi. Trade MDZ. Stepan stinks. It is funny now.

Chuck, with his concussion history and his play of late I think all bets are off with him if the right deal comes along.
