Get Brent Barry via Free Agency... Move Francis to SG... Bring Mobley of the bench or trade him... That's the only way the Rockets could get the full potential out of Yao

I just got a great Idea and here it is..... The Rockets sign Carlos Arroyo make him there starting point gaurd and trade away Steve Francis for a young Big man that would work with Van Gundy's system.

I feel ya man. If only we've tried the trade when Marbury was in New Jersey. If only...

Starbury on the rockets?? I dont think so, he would never get traded by Zeke. Marbury is one of the Knicks core player's, and he's back home. IF the rocket's are lucky and want a PG like Marbury, in this year's draft his Baby Cousin Sebastian Telfair is predicted as a late first rounder.

The problem is: we won't have a first round pick this year. Maybe we can trade Francis for whoever gets Shaun Livingston or Jameer Nelson.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SupraJames:</div><div class="quote_post">Hohoho, my bad, didn't know Tinsley is actually that young... he looks OLD with all that facial hair! Anyways, yes Arroyo is a good candidate, Hinrich would be too, maybe Eric Snow and Earl Watson.. Snow is a strong defender and I think he would fit right in Houston.. except I don't know how the Rockets would go around doing that..

O well, they better pull something this summer.</div>

Snow is a terrible scorer though, and that's exactly what you don't need seeing as you're portrayed as a defensive team. Tell me about Watson please, I don't really know much about that player.

Barry wants to stay in Seattle, I read that in a few posts in the Supersonics forum. Don't get anyone like Marbury, Francis or AI, shoot first, pass later. Sure they're better and more consistent than he is but that'd just bring trouble. Like others have said, try to get Linvingston or Nelson.

Earl Watson is playing backup to Jason Williams in Memphis right now. He is a sparkplug off the bench, and did a good job of running the team when starting. A good defender, especially great at intercepting passes. He could be good if given the minutes, but it won't be known how good he can do running a team for 82 games.

Definitely not Francis, I liked the Brent Barry+Elton Brand rockets link..that would be amazing..well the most overpaid in our team and the #1 guy that I would OFFLOAD is Kelvin Cato. He can't shoot ..but he has the tenacity to shoot his 4 bricks jumpers every game.. I mean this guy cant make a jumper 2 feet. I would trade him for olowakandi.

Too bad he's a point guard...

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trip:</div><div class="quote_post">If Francis is gone, everyone else on the team would get more points, thus making up for the lack of scoring. If Yao really becomes the main guy on offense, expect averages of 22/11/3 next season.</div>

Everyone else like who? Yao was the main guy on offense last season, what makes you think he's going to all of a sudden go for 22 next season? Mo Taylor isn't going to ever play much under Van Gundy because he doesn't play defense or rebounds. Mobely can gun himself to 20 points a game I guess, Jim Jackson can't get his own shot though, no more scorers left after those dudes. That offense already looks like crap with Francis, without him it'd be the worst in the league.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting B-22:</div><div class="quote_post">If the Rockets want to get another point guard they are going to get a point that is a past first pg.I think someone like Andre Miller or Jeff Mcginnis.</div>

Out of those two McGinnis would be the best on offense because he can shoot, set up an offense and doesn't make many mistakes, but then he'd suck on defense... Miller would be great on defense and setting up an offense, but then he can't shoot... Hmm... Neither are worth trading Francis for...

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SupraJames:</div><div class="quote_post">Andre Miller for Francis would be a great trade for the Rockets but it would never happen... Miller is one of their core players that will never be traded.. I guess the most realistic choice right now would be to go after Arroyo who's an FA.. who we trade out I don't know though.</div>

There have been rumors that Miller could be traded this offseason because he isn't meshing well with Carmelo...

Wasn't he back home when he went to New Jersey?

Hey, don't post 2000 times in succession. Either answer all posts in one post or don't answer them at all. It makes the thread look messy.

Hey RocketLaunch, nice to see another Rockets fan here!

Anyways, about Marbury, he is a better PG than Francis. That's why.

Francis is a PG yes, but that's why we've been talking about moving him to the sg spot.

Please take the time to read the whole thread (not just this one, but also the other ones) about Francis. Some people think that Francis should stay at PG, some think he isn't a PG and should be moved either to the SG spot where he belongs or out of Houston completely (like me)

I have been reading around here, and I don't agree with this move Francis to SG talk, he's a PG period, just ask JVG. As for Marbury being a better PG than Francis, more talented yes, but I wouldn't risk setting the team back a few years for a point guard with a proven track record of ruining every team he runs the point for.

Marbury ran the point well with Phoenix last season, guiding them to the playoffs. He can score when he wants to and still gets 20ppg despite 9apg. He is a more well-rounded guard than Steve Francis is. I think we have to trade Steve for someone who is a stable general on offense, not the turnover-prone disaster that Steve Francis is.
