YES Ricky Rubio! That would require a new coach with a different philosiphy though... not that, that would bother many in here ;)

If we go through the draft, we should do whatever it takes to trade up for Evan Turner. Yeah, he's a combo guard, but he's EASILY the class of this draft and he can absolutely play the point in the NBA. He's going to be a bad-ass.

I know a lot of people like to dismiss 'advanced stats' like win score, but take a look at the last few drafts and you'll see a lot the guys who are having NBA success were very highly rated in terms of win score per 48 minutes (and went to a big school.) Ty Lawson was tops last season and he's been probably the best value pick out of that draft so far. George Hill, Brandon Roy, Steph Curry, Dwayne Wade, Chris Paul, Deron Williams...the list goes on and on. Evan Turner's win score per 48 is better than EVERY one of them.

I don't think I'm going that far out on a limb here, but barring injury, he will be a hall of fame point guard. We should sacrifice Fernandez, Bayless, Aldridge, picks, take on a terrible contracts...whatever it takes...to get Evan Turner.

    How was Darren Collison's?

How can you compare different College teams, given their different strengths of competition? Is there a stat for foreign players? The Mavs are very high on Rodrigue Beaubois.

Let me say that there's no chance in hell we're getting Rubio. BUT, that said, his play with Barcelona has impressed me greatly. His stats aren't great, but the team is just dominating, and he's shown that he can coexist with the massive ego and Roy-like (for Europe) game of Navarro, a small SG who likes to have the ball in his hands and is quite a flashy passer himself. I would've thought it would be a bad match, as the book on Rubio up to this point was that he had to dominate the ball to be at all effective, but it's worked very well, and Rubio has developed a solid spot-up three (just as Jason Kidd has).

I can't see him ever coming over to Minny, though. Barcelona to Minneapolis? When they have Jonny Flynn already? And what happens if Minny gets the #1 pick? They've got to take John Wall.

No, I don't think so. Evan Turner is arguably the better player (6'7" SG leading the Big-Ten in rebounds?!), and would inarguably be a better fit on their roster.

so if MIN somehow wins the lottery are they going to take John Wall?

    I would think so....

I'd love to see that...Wall, Flynn and Rubio.....lol...I know thier GM is a little crazy, but I don't think he is THAT crazy...

I think there is a scenario where Rubio could be available...whether POR would\should be interested is entirely another matter....

What about a guy whose stock is way down right now, but whose game may suit the NBA much better?

    Willie Warren...

Wouldn't be surprised to see POR take a flyer of Greivis Vasquez....

    http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Greivis-Vasquez-1133/

and he has worked out for POR before (last year in fact), which usually can be a good barometer (see Claver, Roy for example...)

I think Kalin Lucas is intriguing as well....

I think John Wall would thrive at SG as well. They are in a no lose situation.

Miller's only 33, so he has 7 more years until he's 40. His style of play is much like Jason Kidd's, not based on athleticism, but just outsmarting and being more craftier than his opponent. He never misses time do to injury, I think he could be a player like Kidd who has a lot more ball left in the tank.

    Why waste Wall at SG.

If I am New Jersey and I land the #1 pick. I trade Harris for Miller and Rudy. You get a vet for one year plus Rudy to run with Wall.

    Hell throw in Claver too.

Because he can score like mad and is big like a SG. It would hardly be a waste. Basically Wall is one of those players where you just get him on the floor and let the rest of it be as it may.

He would be a very small SG.

I am sure he could play there, but long term why do it. Why have a small back court when you can have a big back court with him at the point. IMO you put a 6'3 guy at the SG only when he has questionable play making skills at the point. This is not the case. No need to go small if you don't need to.

Sure you do. But this is Minnesota we are talking about, who is your solution to be starting SG out of their lineup? I am talking reality here. The reality is that Minnesota has a ton of talent at PG and none at SG. So in the situation of Minnesota getting the number 1 and taking Wall, that is their best case scenario keeping the pick.

I would also take Terrence Williams or CDR as well...If you all don't like Lee, I think he's got potential on a winning team where he wants to be! Lee was heartbroken after the Magic traded him last year and I think it has effected his play, he's also friends with Oden originally from Indianapolis...
