114-106. Final.Wow, I cant believe the Lakers won this one without Kobe and Brown. I said it would be a blowout, Shame on me.Lamar Odom- He was AMAZING. He was doing everything tonight. 34 points, 13 rebounds, 3-4 3 point shooting, 6 assists, and 3 steals. He had one of his best games ever as a Laker.Andre Bynum- He looked really impressive, Kareem has been working with him very well. 18 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists. Alot of his passes were awesome.Maurice Evans- What a game defensively and offensively. 17 points and 3 steals on 8-13 shooting. He actually shot better than what his numbers show. He started jacking up shots towards the end of the game.Boris Diaw- 2 shot attempts! That's it! He didn't seem into this game at all.Leandro Barbosa- Wow, what a game from him. He is my early pick for the 6th man award. 30 points on 6-8 shooting from 3 point land.Amare Stoudemire- Oh boy, Get healthy.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Something-To-Say @ Oct 31 2006, 11:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Told you again it'd be a blowout. Some of you laker fans are stupidly arrogant. "Oh, there's no tim thomas this year" acting like he's the sole reason we won last year.</div>And I told you it would be a good game.Great game by LA tonight, wow. Phoenix was playing out of rhythm and they look a little shaky. They will bounce back, it was just one game. But you have to applaud the play of the Lakers without Kobe, Brown, or Mihm. Great job.Los Angeles- Lamar Odom played excellent all around basketball. The stats were great (34 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals on 12-24 shooting), but he came up with some HUGE plays/shots. Excellent job by Odom tonight.- Andrew Bynum was AWESOME tonight! 18/9/5 on 7-11 from the floor. But even with the great numbers aside, he really hustled hard and worked his ass off on the boards. He made 3 excellent passes though, and that impressed me a lot. What a great game by the youngster.- Maurice Evans was awesome. He did all the little things, he hustled like crazy, he played excellent defense, and he scored some points in transition.- Parker got off to a real slow start, but he really turned it on in the 2nd half, and finished with an overall pretty solid night.- Radmanovic made a few good plays (especially that touch-pass), but he didn't have his best night. But considering he has an injured shooting hand, he played solid basketball.- Jordan Farmar and Luke Walton brought a lot of energy, and I'm especially surprised that Phil played Farmar in the 4th quarter like that.Phoenix- Nash played well as usual. 15 and 13 and he hit a few trey's.- Barbosa had a great game. After the game, I looked at the stat sheet and I saw 30 points and 6-8 from 3. I had no idea he hit that many 3's or that he scored that many points (I would have guessed 20 points and 3 or 4 three's). Excellent game, he will definitely be a top candidate for 6th Man and Most Improved.- Marion had a good first half, but did not have a good second half at all.- Raja Bell, same as Marion, had a good first half but was a non-factor in the 2nd half.- Diaw didn't look good at all. He fouled out and he was moving slow.- Kurt Thomas had an alright night, but he wasn't very good defensively at all.- Amare looked pretty decent out there. Not the same Amare from 2 years ago, but he's looking alright. He had a nice explosive dunk and a great block, and he was active.- Banks was on and off. He commited too many turnovers and he doesn't seem comfortable with the Suns offense yet. He will though, it's still new to him. He made some nice plays though on the break and defensively.Great game. MUCH better than the Bulls/Heat. [IMG]

Smush & sasha need to be shipped immediately. They are simply horrible. Smush's defense is a laugahble, the play where smush forgot where nash was and nash creater for barbosa for 3 highlight this. Odom was playing like he should be. Agressive. Not being a pussy when kobe is on the court. Bynum owned Amare and KT. he wasn't just owning Diaw and the others. Vlad rad is more than a shooter, he can post up, hustle and do alot of stuff.

Smush Parker is still making the same bonehead plays he made last year, he's still reaching, he's still coming into the lane out of control, he's still throwing up stupid shots. He better get his act together or Farmar's gonna come right up and take his spot (I know he's a rookie but by December or January I could see something like this happening).

Hopefully this will teach D'Antoni to never use that super small line up as long as KT or Amare are available to play but knowing his style I don't hold much hope for that happening any time soon :no3:

At least he plays with a little passion unlike Smush, and he's tenacious on D.BTW, do any other Lakers fans just not like Vlad Rad at all. I know he's a Laker and all, but I just don't like him. He plays and looks like a King, I couldn't help but cringe every time I saw him in a Lakers jersey tonight.

Quite the opposite. When he gets healthy he will be deadly. He has shown to me he is more of a shooter. That's all I wanted.

After I watched the first quarter and went to bed I thought the Suns were playing too fast for the Lakers to catch up, but I was wrong. Bynum looked good in the time I saw him, and I saw his stats at the end of the night. Pretty impressive for the youngster. Odom also turned it around after the first because of his stats at the end of the night. This is good for the Lakers because they can be confident that they can beat contenders, and they didn't even have Kobe.

It's only one game. It's nice that the Lakers proved some of the doubters wrong last night. Anything can happen. What blew me away was how aggressive Lamar Odom was, he's usually not like that. The Lakers role players stepped up and had good shooting nights. Luke Walton, Maurice Evans, Vladimir Radmanovic, Andrew Bynum all played pretty well. You could tell the Lakers were out there to win it for Kobe at home. I expect the Suns to bounce back, it's only one game.

Guys are we really surprised by Odom's play yesterday? I mean it's not like he has done this before, I remember him burning Marion in the playoffs last season pretty well.

But it's not so much that he's manhandled Marion in the playoffs last year a couple times. It's his hustle and aggressiveness that we don't usually get out of Odom. If Odom played like this his whole career he could have been a 3-time All-Star by now averaging 24/11/5. But he's always too passive. Last night he was taking control and taking over the game.

He's fired up about his troubled and misfortunate offseason. The Lakers can be dangerous without Mr Derp. You dunno who'll explode and who to guard. Not to mention all the other fakers in his shadow step up.

The Suns have to play 3 back to backs in a row so I don't expect a very good month at all. [IMG] I really doubt them winning tonight.

What I meant though was that he has always faired well against Marion and the Suns, so the amount of points he put up wasn't all that shocking.

After watching this game, it showed me how much Amare needs to get healthy. You can tell he is playing tenative, and he doesn't have near the lift or explosivness that he had before. I didnt expect him to this early, but man....I really hope he gets healthy for the NBA's sake.
