The Blazers currently have 4 2024 draft picks (2 1st rounders and 2 2nd rounders). They have 4 players with non-guaranteed money next year: - Walker - Camara - Banton - Brown I'm guessing Brown is gone to make room for the Blazers 1 round pick. They probably aren't willing to let Walker or Camara walk just to make room for that GSW 1st round pick. It makes sense that they trade that pick (along with a player) to upgrade a position. Then they need to decide where their 2 2nd round rookies will land. Perhaps they could sign the 2 2nd picks to 2-way contracts (Let Hagans & Minaya go). If not, Banton seems like the odd man out.
Do you mean: which ones would be most valued by other GMs, or which ones we would hold on to if we were Blazers GM?
Yeah the GS pick is difficult to evaluate since we don't know where it will land. Right now the mock draft I am looking at https://www.tankathon.com/mock_draft has them at 13. If they fall to 17 there seems to be a drop off. If we keep the pick and go for a backup center then I move Williams If Rupert has the potential to be as good of a defender as Matisse then I would keep Rupert I'm not willing to give up on Walker and Camara yet. So those two for sure.
I'm really glad we have all of the pieces and don't have to pick just four of them. I'm hoping we can get some value out of Rob in the off season. I am hoping that the team is planning on building around Scoot and Shae and will be moving Ant and in that case moving Tisse for draft assets makes sense... if we're building around Ant, Tisse might make more sense next to him in the back court than any other guy on the roster.
Yup, he's said many things that haven't been true before. You'd be surprised at how often the most well-connected people get the wrong information. The Blazers were going to trade the 3rd pick too, until they didn't.
