I prefer Benson to Jordan, but Benson woudl cost the #2 pick in the draft while Jordan is likely available at a moderate free agent price.... those backs you mentioned above were serviceable at best, none of them were great and Denson was by far the worst of the groups....Benson and Dunn are completely different, Benson is similar in style and stature to Ricky Williams, a bigger back who will plow for yards....Plexiglass to Miami may be a natural fit with Saban coaching him at Mich St too....it all comes down to money though and the Dolphins arent in a position to spend a lot of it....I do think that the best thing for Feeley is to surround him with talent, which means drafting Benson and signing Plexiglass, keeping Booker, Chambers, and McMichael gives him a really good chance too succeed....
Boston may be a cap casualty....they have a clause written into the deal where they are out from under the whole thing if he does anything to negitively affect the team, like get busted with roids....they can void that contract and say goodbye to Boston without cap penalties and recoup the money they have paid already, which they may do if hes suspeneded....
can someone PLEASE explain to me why football teams make HUGE deals about trading for a 2nd round pick, 3rd, 4th, 5th, or whatever??? Rumor has it Miami could trade Surtain, Taylor, or Madison for a 5th round pick...why would a team go SO LOW...i mean, there arent many good players past the 1st round. If i were to trade, i would trade for a 1st round pick and get as many top players as possible....I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY GO FOR 2nd-7th rounders!!
it is possible, but i dont think he will let that impare his judgement. He won't let the fact that he coached a guy at LSU get in the way. If there is someone better he will know it and go after them.
None of those players are going for a 5th rounder....Taylor would cost a 1st +, hes a dynamic rush end.....Surtain would cost a 1st, hes a near shutdown corner, Madison could be had for less, 2nd or 3rd, hes aging, but still talented....but, there is plenty of talent past the 1st round....in the current NFL climate, you build your team with picks between the 2nd and 7th round and you can find potential stars later in the draft, if you need further evidence, write a letter to Tom Brady and ask him about 6th round picks that go on to win Super Bowl MVP Trophy after MVP trophy....as far as I can tell the Patriots starting offense has exactly 1 player that was a 1st round draft pick, and that was Daniel Graham....
Quick poll....who thinks AJ Feeley has lots of potential, and that Miami should stick with him?? Also, who thinks Miami should stick with Sammy Morris at RB??
Miami should start feeley next season. 1 of 2 things should happen. 1) he succeeds and dolphins win a lot of games 2) he fails and they know he is not the guy. That being said if they do not get a legitimate option for the future in the draft(i.e. 1st - 3rd rd pick) they are fooling themselves, and making a huge mistake.
how many quarterbacks can say they beat the Patriots in the past 2 years??? Patrick Ramsey, Ben Roethlisberger, and AJ Feeley....amazingly, all VERY YOUNG quarterbacks. He played amazingly against the Buffalo Bills in the 1st quarter of the second game...and if they could just get a damn offensive line, Sammy Morris could run for once. John Madden even said "a strong offensive line is the key to a good offense". Im a firm believer in the offensive line making an offense good or bad...unless u didnt already know, lol
They are smart to start Feeley and see what happens....if he plays well, then hes the QB of the next few years, if he stinks they will suck and get another high draft pick next year, maybe #1 in the matt leinart sweepstakes....this year they should draft a back with the #2 pick, any of the top few guys are an upgrade over sammy morris, who is servicable but not spectacular....either way, Saban has stated that Feeley will start, he will bring in a veteran backup and he will get a young developmental QB to be the #3....
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pack Attack)</div><div class='quotemain'>I can see sticking with Feeley, but Morris should be easy to upgrade.</div> I like Morris. He, Lamar Gordon, & either Kay-Jay Harris or Ronnie Brown (Either I hope) would make a great RB platoon like Mewelde Moore, Moe Williams, Bennett, & 1 other yahoo whose name I can't recall did under Linehan up in Minny.
Feeley will not be as bad as Noodle arm Jay. Nor will Saban stick with or be as blindly loyal to AJ as you know who was w/ Feidler. I hope Brad Johnson is the veteran brought in to backup AJ. Not Warner. Garcia would be okay.
listen to you guys!!! KITNA??? JOHNSON??? GARCIA???? Dudes....if the Dolphins chose Kitna, Garcia, or Brad Johnson (who won a Super bowl...right??) why the hell would AJ Feeley start???? Id choose Kitna, Johnson, or Garcia over Feeley anyday of the week!!
Feeley needs to just start the season as a starter and go the whole season without feeling like he'll get benched if he'll make a mistake.
